A Catholic couple who alleges that Massachusetts officials banned them from welcoming foster children into their home due to their religious beliefs is still fighting for their rights in court, even after state foster care licensing rules were altered amid federal pressure.
Michael and Catherine Burke say that state officials denied them the chance to foster children despite completing the training and interviews required for the application process.
According to the couple’s lawsuit — which they filed in 2023 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts — they were denied the right to foster a child because they “would not be affirming to a child who identified as LGBTQIA.”

Then… don’t recommend Lgbtyq kids to them?
Being denied because you are a conservative Christion has happen far more often then most people realize.
My son is 30 and “identifies” as a woman (I think!). It’s all very confusing and since he lives far away and we only communicate a couple of times a month, it’s hard for me to be extremely involved in his life.
We have never been “affirming” about his choices, but we always show him respect and love when he’s around us. Unlike the other side, we conservative, Christian people can show love without having to “adapt” to the culture.

If Mass is worried about that. Be selective. Don’t send an LBGTQ child to them. I’m sure they have plenty of kids who need foster care. Send those kids to an child abusive homosexual or lesbian couple, I’m sure there are some of those in the system always looking for fresh meat to play with. Or does the State want to send normal kids into those types of environments hoping they’ll ‘come around’ so to speak.

I hate to sound defeatist, but the only thing this couple really can do is move out of Massachusetts to a redder state. Massachusetts is never going to allow Catholics who adhere to church doctrine to adopt children. The state is too far gone. Unless they want to wait until illegal Somali immigrants develop a sufficiently large voting block in MA to impose Islamic law and start killing the LGBTQ+ community. Then they should be able to adopt again.
We have a nephew with that same affliction, and another nephew who is homosexual. They are each a child of one of my wife's sisters.
After his death at 41, of an unspecified disease, I learned that my youngest brother had been homosexual. He showed no signs of it that I ever noticed.
Accepting and enabling their illness does them no favors, yet family members are doing so.

Agreed. My son knows we don’t accept it. He’s been taking estrogen...and then wonders why he seems to have mood swings and depression.
He’s on his own, so we played no part in enabling him. I will love on him when we see him, but in no way will I acknowledge him as “female”. He keeps saying he’s going to legally change his name, but he’s yet to do so. My wife and I decided that if he legally changes his name, we’ll call him that name as its just a name. But, it won’t change our stance or our love for HIM.
You must know that since "Lgbtyq kids" are a result of nurture (even via epigenetics*) more than nature, then LGBTSAI+++ powers as proxy servants of the devil, work to pervert any and all that gives honor to God, thus parents must not resist the woke Borg that seeks to assimilate all unto conformity with Sodom. In order to obtain victim protected status for their clients, in the West they equate perverse inclinations and behavior as being morally equivalent to such amoral aspects as color and ethnicity.
Epigenetics: environmental factors and behaviors can change gene expression without altering the DNA sequence itself. These changes can affect how genes are turned "on" or "off," influencing various traits...
Don’t blame these parents a bit. Why would anybody want one of those kids in their home voluntarily? Lots of folks out there with some screwed-up ideas about kids & “gender choice”. The state forcing them with this type of child in my opinion is an abomination.
The idea that a child is homosexual is a false claim.
The couple should affirm that they would molest any child placed in their care.
I am under no illusion of what I think would happen if the hard left took control of the USA. We would have to have secret church services like they do in China.
