The Super Bowl is in California this week, but a football-related jab at Gov. Gavin Newsom has just touched down in none other than New York City.
The billboard, paid for by the California Business and Industrial Alliance, criticizes Newsom by comparing him to the sad-sack New York Jets.

I said "unfortunately". Newsom has the women's vote because of looks and on positions, he's a slimy politician like Clinton who many people liked.

Correct, but that's the effective way of being a modern slimy politician. As to falling apart, I doubt it. Newsom didn't fall apart in the Newsom-DeSantis debate.
We’re #1 in taxes, and it’s going to get much worse. A mileage tax for motorists is working its way through the legislature and is certain to pass. A five percent wealth tax on billionaires that will be imposed “one time only” (yeah, right!) is also coming.
Could happen. Kamala was a joke, but she still took 20 states.
That’s truly the best thing you can say about the Jets - that they are not as bad as Gavin Newsom.
The only constant throughout the decades of Jets failures has been the owner, Woody Johnson.
As a long suffering Jets fan, I am hereby imploring Donald Trump to use high tariffs or other means to force that incompetent fool to sell the team.
At least the Jets have one SB win.
He should be compared to the Cleveland Browns.

You have a point but:
A. In recent history the Jets have been far more sad-sack than the Browns. The Browns even have a playoff win in the last decade
B. The ad was on a billboard in NYC - it made sense to use the Jets to better relate to the target audience
Tlozo make a good point: nothing succeeds more than failure to the Democratic voter. The next question should be “why”. IMHO, it is because to the average numbskull process matters more than actual results, and, unfortunately, there are a great number of numbskulls among the electorate. In other words, whether or not Newsome’s polices have been beneficial or not is wholly immaterial, what matters to them, and only what matters, is that the policies he promotes are ideologically appealing. This is the essence of feel-good politics. The truth, we know, is very different: to quote an unlikely source, the murderous Chinese dictator, Deng Xiaoping, “It doesn’t matter if a cat is black or yellow, as long as it catches mice”.
