Supreme Court lets California use new congressional map in midterms, rejecting bid to block it

Washington — The Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to block California's new congressional map that could net Democrats five seats in the upcoming midterm elections.

The decision from the high court clears the way for California to use for now the newly drawn lines for most of its 52 House districts in this year's congressional elections. There were no noted dissents.

The map was crafted in response to a rare mid-decade redistricting by Texas Republicans last year, which aimed to help the GOP maintain its control of the lower chamber in Congress. California officials sought to draw a map that would see Democrats pick up five seats in the House, which would offset the five seats that were newly crafted in Texas to favor Republicans.

Most RINOs in the Midwest are Democrats. But they are Republican because it was the only way they’ll get elected into office.

So they now agree with Gav Gav and the Mexicans that “hispanics” are a Race who should be entitled to their own districts guaranteeing them a win.

That’s what the complaint was against the midterm map: it used hispanic ethnicity to define new districts.

The So-Called Supremes now claim that there is another nation on our soil deserving of its own carve-outs: the Magnificent and Powerful Hispanics (ALWAYS capitalized) who are the unfortunate, marginalized Victims (with a capital V) of the Evil Anglos.

Pobrecitos.

But the Soopremes handed Mexico a win, and now they will own us.

Tangipa v. Newsom (specifically, David Tangipa, et al. v. Gavin Newsom, et al., Case 25A839) is the federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of new U.S. House districts in California created by the passage of Proposition 50 in November 2025.

OK. The Dems have the b__ls to do this in every state they control and the SC is allowing it. Let’s see if the GOP has the b___ls to fight back and do it in Red States. Any bets on whether they will?

My guess is, Mike Pence still has some political sway there and he was the force behind the Republican resistance.

Alright Trump, at this point you just need to deport every hispanic out of California, even if they are a US citizen

They ruled in Texas’s favor so they had to do the same here

You are probably on to something there. There is a group gearing up to primary the GOP leaders in Indiana who refused to even attempt to redistrict. It’d be nice to see a few of them lose their seats.

Then I would hope they overturn the Voting Wrongs Act and let the southern states draw their districts as they see fit.
But of course, Roberts & co want to appear “fair.”

Not a surprise. This is a political/legislative issue. Can hardly complain when Texas did the same thing.

It’s an expected consequence from the TX case, honestly.

I thought Texas had been laboring under court ordered districting for decades.

People either want an honest election process, or they just want to “win”. Its obvious what Democrats want.

Californica has failed as a republic, also.

Texas was removing gerrymandered lines and CA made their gerrymandered stuff even worse.
