Roberta Tarnove was horrified last week when she learned that a man protesting ICE was shot and killed in Minneapolis. And it wasn’t just because someone was dead.
The 65-year-old Jewish resident of Los Angeles was also distressed that federal officials said the agents were justified in shooting Alex Pretti because they believed he was armed. Pretti, 37, was a licensed gun owner in a state where carrying a gun openly is legal.
“I’m very sad. He certainly had every right to carry a gun,” Tarnove said.
The situation hit home for Tarnove because she, too, owns guns and has a permit allowing her to carry concealed firearms.
“As a Jewish person whose Sunday school teachers were mostly Holocaust survivors, there was something about Donald Trump’s presidential run that just hit me hard,” she said. “The dog whistles and things just sounded alarm bells in my head, and so I think I need to get a gun, not that I can overthrow the government, but just for personal protection.”
Since getting her first gun in 2015, Tarnove has been part of a Southern California Jewish gun club, Bullets & Bagels.

Jews just can’t help themselves. Geez.
don’t be stupid, like this garbage article
What a stupid woman.
Part of owning a weapon is the discretion to recognize when it is a liability. With his past record, and physically throwing himself into the act of stopping ICE agents trying to arrest someone was stupid. And just having it established him as a liability to ICE agents who have been facing physical attacks for months and are gun shy when the appearance he is reaching for it can trigger a reaction. So why create the possibility? If you want to interfere with the arrest, knock yourself out. You are not going to stop it. But add the weapon to the mix and it just went viral. He was stupid for bring it into that area.

He had a right to carry a gun. He also had a right to protest. What he didn’t have was the right to actively obstruct federal law enforcement while armed.
CC
Was not legal, and he was stalking Law Enforcement Agents and commiting several crimes.
forward dot com - how .... progressive
65 yr. old jewish lady... in Los Angeles.. with a concealed carry permit.... Yeah... right. Can’t find numbers, but a search seems to indicate under 2000 ccw in l.a. and under 35,000 in l.a. county in 2024
“The dog whistles and things just sounded alarm bells in my head,” - who on the right uses leftist talking points?
Forward is basically just another communistic propaganda paper with a few intellectual articles and some cooking recipes.
Stop the press! They made the incident about themselves. Insufferable.
He wasn’t being stupid.
After Oct. 7th. I said to him “You and your wife should get a gun’’.
He said “Oh we don't believe in that!’’
I said to him “Your enemies do''. He didn't say anything to that.
“Because they believed he was armed…”
Who writes this crap. He was armed, and his firearm accidentally discharged because he carried it with a round in the chamber. And he assaulted a federal officer who was discharging his lawful duty.

A) interfered with federal agents while they were performing their lawful duty.
B) violently resisted arrest.
C) was armed while doing so and federal agents believed they were under imminent threat of serious bodily harm or death.....understandable given all the attacks on ICE in Minneapolis.
Framing it as though they saw he was armed and shot him for that is an outright lie. That is not what happened. Jackass made 3-4 really bad decisions in a row that put him at risk of being shot. This wasn't even his first time doing so - but it was the last time.
It is fortunate that Pretti did not get anyone else killed. He put a lot of people in danger.
Would those illegal actions nullify his Minnesota license to carry a concealed hand gun?
In other words - was Pretti unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm on the day he was shot and killed by ICE?
Yes he sure did.
And he had every right not to fight with men attempting to remove illegals from this country.
And those men he was fighting had every right to carry a gun, too.
And they have every RIGHT to use it if they think their or another's life may be in danger.
