As the midterm election year gets underway, voters are already drawing clear lines between the Democratic and Republican parties on the issues.
A new Fox News survey, released Thursday, finds the Republican Party is seen as better able to handle border security (by 15 points), national security (+12), and immigration (+5).
The Democratic Party is favored on transgender issues (by 22 points), healthcare (+21), vaccines (+16), helping the middle class (+14), and affordability (+14).
And on three issues where Republicans have recently held the edge, now neither party has shown a clear preference: taxes (+1D), foreign policy (even), and the federal budget deficit (+2R).
The survey asks voters what President Donald Trump’s top priorities should be, and the economy dominates. Nearly 4 in 10 cite either the economy in general (19%) or prices (17%).
The view that the Democrats can better handle affordability gives them an early edge in the generic Congressional vote preference, where voters are asked who they will support in the U.S. House race in their district this November. While the question is largely hypothetical this far out, it gives us a baseline for the coming election, according to Republican pollster Daron Shaw.
"Political science analyses demonstrate that aggregate responses to this question begin to more accurately predict the actual House vote by around mid-summer," Shaw added. "But we ask it at this point simply to get a sense of how short-term forces might play out in the general election."
The survey shows if the election were today, 52% of voters would back the Democratic candidate in their House district and 46% the Republican. That’s a 6-point edge, which is right at the poll’s margin of sampling error.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Americans are complete morons if they have Democrats +14 on affordability.
It doesn’t take a lot of mental effort to realize if the government spends more money prices will increase.
Perplexing isn’t it? People can’t be that gullible.
They all turned a blind eye to Prez Pedo’s sky high inflation. Mostly because the cheerleader media went out of their way to hide the story and say that “inflation can be a GOOD thing.”
Every time I hear someone mention how “bad the economy is now” I correct them and say it was bad since 1/20/21 the day that Pedo Joe aka Autopen started dismantling the real President’s policies.
The only thing I agree with as far as the communist go is their better at a.. kissing the transgender policies. Everything else listed is what is wrong with this country and they did it.
The Republicans would fair much better if they got off there lazy dead a.. and DID SOMETHING.

1. The House is key this cycle. Concentrate on House races that are expected to be close.
2. Work on turning out the conservative vote bigly. Don’t let the typical midterm lackadaisical approach rule the day. Make it a targeted, somewhat behind the scenes approach so that there won’t be a reactionary influx of Democrat voters in response. Conservatives have won some battles in the public marketplace of ideas. If we want more wins, get out and vote.
3. At least to some extent, appeal to the middle. Like it or not, their votes will be important. Don’t assume that most people view the world as we do. They don’t. Sitting at home after the election and criticizing the way that the middle voted won’t change things.
4. Pray that the economy is in good shape in November. That would definitely help.

Democrats will make affordability much worse. They don’t know how to fix that. Their actions would do a lot more damage. They are hell bent on destroying the middle class. This poll must have been done by morons who want more free stuff.
