Minnesota’s defiance of federal immigration law echoes pre–Fort Sumter nullification, forcing Trump to choose between enforcement and letting blue states slide toward open rebellion.
In the months before the April 12, 1861, firing on Fort Sumter, there were lots of sharp divisions in the North about the proper reaction to the first seven Confederate states that had already left the Union.
Not all Unionists believed that war was inevitable. Some, in fact, were happy to be done with the departing South and thus see their stain of slavery gone from the Union. Similarly, others agreed that the emerging Confederacy was not worth the trouble and costs of war, and the secessionists could just form their own nation and stew in their own backward, servile juice.
But after Fort Sumter, Lincoln—who was hated as much by the Confederates as Trump is by the woke and socialist left—gained a consensus that the Constitution had no clauses about any lawful departure from the union. But it did operate under a clear supremacy clause that made state obstruction of federal law and occupation of federal property veritable sedition.
Lincoln and the preservationists felt that they easily had the moral high ground of abolition versus the continuance of slavery. Nor did they want a North America of fragmenting, warring nations in the manner of Europe.
Something similar is emerging over Minnesota, the South Carolina of our age.
Once sanctuary states, cities, and counties had established the precedent that, with impunity, they could nullify federal immigration law, then what followed was a logical and mounting descent into the current open defiance of the federal government. How odd that self-described progressives are now acting out the visions of prior kindred nullificationists and neo-Confederates from John C. Calhoun to George Wallace.

But that said, they want the act of deportation of the non-criminal to be out of sight, out of mind—as if magically they can simply disappear and thus either self-deport or assemble at ICE stations eager to be sent at no cost home.
Thus, probably the #1 reason that the left is making deportations as ugly as possible. While the left also makes child killing (abortion) as quiet and serene as possible (in a "clinic").

The Left gains political power via census apportionment of House seats from illegals. Add on top of that the voting of motor voter registrations of illegals, which has been happening.
Removal of illegals is an existential threat to the Democrats, and THAT is why they are fighting this so hard.
When a Trump is in office, it's the opposite.
The south seceded from the union was because they faced being a permanent, powerless, political minority. Lincoln was elected without a getting a single vote in the south. Democrats have concluded that without the illegal alien census count and vote that they will be locked out of power. That’s why illegal immigration is so vital to their continued existence.

Immigration control is a requirement of the Federal Gov’t. Picking up criminal aliens is the job of the Federal Gov’t.
The bottom line is: as a nation, can no longer co-exist with these lying, violent, radical, cheating, godless communists.
Either they gotta go, or they’re gonna kill us all when they return to power.
^THAT^ is the bottom line.
The question is: Not IF, but WHEN, is something gonna be done about it.
Combine that motor voter with mail in ballots, and the illegals so registered don’t even have to vote.

What does this even mean? "Military-grade"? Just about every pistol in common use is "military-grade". Saying this is just doing what the left does when they say "assault rifle" when talking about a gun that is widely owned by private citizens, and used for plenty of things other than military "assaults".
A bit disappointing to see VDH using this sort of terminology.
Minnesota is actually two states, the out state counties, which Governor Walz disparagingly said as being nothing but rocks and cows, and the Minneapolis/St Paul Metro. Out state Minnesota is sane and conservative. Metro is dominated by leftists and crazies. In any civil war scenario. Metro Minnesota would be on its own

So what does this mean?
What it means is that it all depends whose ox is getting gored.
So called “principles” go out the window when crucial interests are at stake. And that goes for both sides.
As the old saying goes, “all is fair in love and war”. Or to put it another way, to win a war pretty much any means goes.
Simple human reality.
