The National Rifle Association (NRA) criticized comments by a senior federal prosecutor warning that approaching law enforcement with a gun could justify a fatal police response, saying such statements risk "demonizing law‑abiding citizens" as the nation reels from the killing of a man in Minneapolis by a U.S. border agent.

I don’t think the nation is “reeling”.
Maybe...”rocking”?
“the nation reels from the killing of a man in Minneapolis by a U.S. border agent”
Anyone approaching law enforcement with a gun in their hand is a nut.
The NRA needs to relearn the classic lesson.
Bending the knee to the left never works.
They just crush you anyway.
The NRA was behind every major anti firearm laws including the 1934 NFA and the 1968 GCA.
The videos I have seen have been a bit blurry and maybe hard to interpret, but it seems to me that Pretti didn’t merely “approach” the police with a gun in his pocket. He confronted the police during a physical altercation, and he drew his gun. Others may view the videos differently, but I think the guy crossed the line and got what he deserved.
NRA whores
There’s still a lot of LaPierre’s cronies running things at the NRA.

"I never said it's legally justified to shoot law-abiding concealed carriers. My comment addressed agitators approaching law enforcement with a gun and refusing to disarm," he said.
Actually, Mr Essayli, you said NONE of that. This is called backtracking, spin, gaslighting, and other tactics usually reserved for leftists.
The NRA has been irrelevant among gun owners for a decade - even counter productive.
When the Dearly Departed was interacting with ICE, where was his pistol? Was it visible? Was it stuck in his waistband and covered with his shirt?
Reports indicate that he was relieved of his weapon before being shot. Is that correct?
Was he lying unarmed on the sidewalk when he was shot?
Those are among the questions that were asked when my partner and I were involved in a police shooting in 1972.
He was holding his phone. The police pulled his gun from its holster before shooting him 10 times.
Did his comment not address agitators approaching law enforcement with a gun and refusing to disarm?
Was that not the context?
Must he specifically spell out the context to satisfy you?
He didnt have a gun in his hand. It was in his waist. It wasn’t moved by him.
Sigh. Head Shake.
The guy who was shot: pulled a shop made pistol, wore a keffiyeh, was probably an Illegal Alien, possibly associated with Hamas, probably was a paid agitator for the demonstration.
Ignore the ignorant MEDIA.
In the years
Rollin’ til the break of dawn
Yes, obviously.
