New taxation that started in Fairfax County, VA on Jan 1. The proposal was rejected twice by voters but rammed through by the board of supervisors.

Some of the absurdities:

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Now that the Dems have completely taken over Virginia, we can expect more of this in the rest of the state.

Expect SW Virginia will rekindle talk with West Virginia about joining them. As a native and former Virginian, I never thought I’d see Virginia “crash and burn” as it has. We have relatives and friends in Virginia who are actively looking to move out of state.

Currently it requires agreement both the gaining state legislature and losing state legislature as well as federal government Congress permission. I would like to see a Constitutional Amendment removing the losing state legislatures permission. That might encourage state legislatures to govern more rationally.

All Leftist states, including my own, are casting about in increasingly unhinged ways to fund their anti-Constitutional agendas.

They could cut back on funding illegals healthcare and welfare. They could limit school budgets by allowing school choice.

But they won’t do those things.

All of these guideline efforts, including the EBT change, are feel good nonsense that will eventually be twisted into lining a politicians pocket.

Look at the food pyramid. Many people have been telling everyone this for years but government kept pushing the same crap that they knew was politically motivated and harmful to citizens health.

Imagine if a feel good guideline movement started a decade or so back. No eggs, no meat, no salt. Only huge amounts of processed carbs. You think healthcare is expensive now, imagine where we may have wound up if we had purchasing guidelines then.

Very similar to the Pennsylvania sales tax rules regarding food vs. prepared food.
