Democrats and Republicans are united in opposing U.S. military strikes against Iran to retaliate for the killing of protesters amid a wave of massive demonstrations against the Iranian government in recent weeks, according to a new national poll.

Seventy percent of voters questioned in a new Quinnipiac University survey said they think the U.S. should not get involved militarily in Iran, with 18% saying the U.S. should take military action.

The vast majority of Independents (80%-11%) and Democrats (79%-7%), as well as a majority of Republicans (53%-35%) said the U.S. should not get involved if protesters in Iran are killed while demonstrating against the regime.

The poll, conducted Jan. 9–12, comes as President Donald Trump has turned up the heat on the regime in Tehran, threatening strikes on Iran if its forces continue to kill demonstrators.

I do not have the privilege to Intel reports.

Pure guess follows.

I doubt the protests and riots are as effective as we claim.

Iran has a robust Intel network, military special forces (Quads), and the Chinese have helped them a lot over the years regards the cyber threat and controlling information and communication via the Internet.

I suspect the uprising will be squashed.

Trying to cripple the regimes command and control, paralyze their military and other security forces as we did in Libya so that the opposition forces can get a foot hold is IMHO unlikely to be achieved in Iran.

If we helped fuel these protests (which we surely did), we more or less threw these people to the wolves.

If these polls are right, those polled are wrong.

America should bomb the political leaders of Iran much the same as the Israelis eliminated so deftly the military leaders of Iran.

Regime change in Iran is a legitimate action against the nation that has committed countless acts of war against the United States.

With certainty the pawns are the most, in number, on a Chessboard.

I want the Dems to be polled on when they would actually support military action and a declaration of war. I’m confident that they would only ever support a full declaration of war against the American people... and that they’d resist voting for one even if we were nuked.

Sadly, that seems to be an American tradition, as well as a tradition for governments of almost every stripe.

I suspect the uprising will be squashed.

And then what happens to the people who stood up to express their dissident views? RIP.

What is the CIA paid to do, are they doing it poorly and should the CIA be defunded?

Israel produced those unfortunate coincidental accidents in which to nuclear bomb researchers in Iran were killed. What is the CIA doing since their inhuman MK Ultra era?
