A man from Calico Rock has been arrested on a rape charge in Jonesboro. Twenty-nine-year-old Terry Nicholas Mitchell was arrested last week and booked into the Craighead County Jail on the class Y felony.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Jonesboro Police Department, detectives met with the victim at the hospital who said she had been communicating with Mitchell for about three weeks after meeting him online. She had been traveling near Calico Rock Dec. 20 and invited Mitchell to go back to Jonesboro with her.
That night Mitchell asked to sleep in the victim’s bed, which she agreed to, but she said there would be no sexual contact. She later awoke to Mitchell inappropriately touching her. She pushed him away, told him “no” and went back to sleep.
She was awakened a second time to the rape occurring. The victim pushed Mitchell away, yelled for him to leave and went into the living room. Mitchell followed her and apologized for his actions.

I’m guessing Arkansas.
I would first say it’s truly sad that lonely people have to risk online dating sites now.
Two exceptions.
Miss America for 2016, Betty Maxwell, said meeting someone briefly in her hectic schedule made finding someone nearly impossible. She met her husband on Tinder.
And Kat Timpf met her husband, Cameron Friscia, on the dating app Raya.

The accused rapist refused to believe the alleged victim could be so naive, as to agree that ‘yes’ he could lie down in bed with her and ‘sleep’, but absolutely No Sex!!.
The average man hears that and assumes the woman is playing some sort of Mind Game. She wants togetherness, but won’t come out and admit it, preferring to take the stance of a passive victim, to whom ‘something just happened’.
It’s from the old school way of thinking:
“When she says No, she really means Yes”.

Who besides the two know what really happened. Maybe she consented and then later changed her mind.
One needs a body cam that is on 24 hours a day to record everything.
A guy has to be nuts to be with a woman these days. Too risky. Too much liability.
