Challenge was made by a group of 75 abuse survivors
Settlement was reached in bankruptcy court in 2022
Jan 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Monday to hear a challenge to the Boy Scouts of America's landmark $2.46 billion settlement of sex abuse claims in a case involving a group of abuse survivors who wanted to pursue lawsuits against churches and other organizations that ran scouting programs where abuse occurred.
The Boy Scouts organization, now called Scouting America, said after the court's action on Monday that it can now continue compensating abuse survivors and improving its scouting programs without the cloud of bankruptcy and litigation.
"When you're in bankruptcy, you don't do a lot of investment in anything but getting out of bankruptcy," Scouting America CEO Roger Krone said in an interview.
The Supreme Court turned away an appeal by 75 plaintiffs of a lower court's decision rejecting their claim that the bankruptcy deal improperly prevented them from suing other organizations that were partly liable for the abuse. The settlement already has paid about $300 million to abuse survivors, and work will resume on claims evaluation and payment now that the appeals are over, Krone said. Scouting America's settlement trustee, Barbara Houser, is working to add more funds to the total settlement by suing insurers and selling assets belonging to the organization that include paintings by Norman Rockwell and Joseph Csatari. ...

Hmmm, 75 victims of zctual abuse onky get $2.5 billion to sp.it among them? Alex Jones was fined over $1 billion dollars for simpky saying something stupid 5o way less people.
Yep they brought in the fags and shocker the kids got abused. Mission accomplished a great American institution destroyed.
I mean, honest to goodness, can you just stop the trite stupid stuff. Scouting rigorously enforces its Youth Protection program. Any inkling of illegal conduct is reported to law enforcement, and membership is canceled. In the past they weren’t careful and terrible things happened, just as happened in schools, churches, and other places.
States revived the statute of limitations and many many cases were paid out in the bankruptcy on little or no evidence
Boy Scouts Key Milestones & Changes:

2018/2019: Opened programs to girls in Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts).
2025: Rebranded from Boy Scouts of America to Scouting America to signify broader inclusion.
Current Policy:
Welcomes all eligible youth, irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, or orientation, who accept Scouting’s values.
Aims to provide a safe environment for youth to be their authentic selves.
Leadership & Representation:
Appointed its first Black, openly gay scout executive, Gary Carol, in 2022, showcasing commitment to diversity.
Established LGBTQ+ employee resource groups like VIEW to foster inclusion.
Good, time for the law suit mess to end.
I guess Scout Leaders will have no choice now but to become Catholic Priest!
Yup. I remember the day that the scouts were bullied into allowing gay scoutmasters like yesterday. I said there goes the scouts. Earlier the Catholic Church made the exact same mistake by allowing gays to enter the seminary. Proponents argued gays would obey the rule of celibacy. What a laugh.
“$2.5 billion to split among them?”
$2.5 billion divided among 75 victims is about $1.33 each. (and yes, I checked my math before posting) /s
