A bipartisan group of US lawmakers will visit Denmark this week as President Donald Trump threatens a takeover of Greenland, an autonomous part of the Kingdom of Denmark that hosts a US airbase.
The delegation will be led by Democratic Senator Chris Coons and will include Republican Senator Thom Tillis and Democratic Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Dick Durbin, along with several members of the House of Representatives, Coons’ office said in a statement on Monday.

The stage has been set.
Now what will “the deal” be?
At least the whole EU won’t be there to screw it up.
U.S. foreign policy is the prevue of the executive branch.
Would it be wrong of me to hope they forget their mittens and warm boots, and their fingers and toes get ‘frostbit’?
Dang meddlers.
They don’t need any help losing 2026. Why continue this charade?
Sounds like a boondoggle to Denmark.
Tillis? That makes it bipartisan?
We should think this through. Northern countries tend to be socialistic, probably because of climate.
Maybe it would be best if we amended the Constitution to allow for home rule so Dems can’t incorporate another liberal state.
It might be best for our territories. Rule their own lands as they see fit, but allow everyone the opportunity for travel or residency.
Britain does this.
“Bipartisan” means almost all far left Trump hating Democrats, with a RINO or two for show.
Thing is they are not in control of the executive branch.
Trump is.
Threats?
Isn’t this some sort of treasonous act?
Certainly, then, you are arguing we should do the reverse.
I was wondering that too. Does Marco have the power to put a hold on their trip? Nothing else it’s not a government paid trip. Fly commerical.
It’s supposed to be the opposite of helping Trump.
Oh, great. The Dems in that delegation are going to do anything to thwart what Trump wants to do.
Boondoggle
Buy them out but for God’s sake don’t give up any moral high ground that our enemies could hold over our head. Taking another sovereign country by force that hasn’t threatened or attacked us is not right and would stand as the example the Democrats are hoping for with their Seditious Six video about not following orders one might think are illegal.
But if your just visiting just to put the bee in their bonnet do leave Durbin out on an ice floe. Polar bears gotta eat, same as buzzards.
