Although the argument goes on, the video of the Minneapolis shooting taken by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who shot Renee Good effectively answered the question of whether the agent, Jonathan Ross, acted lawfully. The video, and other evidence as well, suggests that he did.
"Regardless of whether you believe Renee Good's death resulted from either her poor decision-making in gratuitously courting danger, or Trump's excessive zeal in ramping up immigration enforcement, the legal case comes down to whether the agent reasonably perceived a potentially lethal threat," wrote former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy. "From what we have seen so far, he did.”

Ross is highly unlikely to face any sort of federal prosecution over the incident. But that does not mean that officials in the state of Minnesota will see things the same way. "I've just been through enough of these cases where if there's a political agenda, then the law gets thrown to the side," Eric Nelson, the lawyer who defended Derek Chauvin, the Minneapolis officer now jailed for the death of George Floyd, told the Daily Mail. "It is entirely possible that the federal system could say we're not going to indict [Ross], but the state could prosecute him for some form of homicide or manslaughter.”

Poor Ross and his family????
I’m interested in the trajectory of the fatal bullet.
In order to strike the deceased woman, the round had to enter the passenger compartment of the car.
What route did it follow? Was it fired from the front of the car and penetrated the windshield, or could it have been fired from the driver’s left side? Where did the bullet strike her? I’ve literally seen dozens of head-shots.
Except for a few cases, it was easy to determine from what direction the shot was fired.
If, as my neighbor adamantly claims, the officer fired through the driver’s window (whether it was up or down doesn’t matter), then the immediate threat to him no longer existed. That would mean the car was on its way out of the zone and the threat to the officer was over.
I don t know if you’re right or wrong, but I do know you don’t have time to rationalize like that when a car is pointed at you, especially if you’ve been seriously hurt by a similar incident in the past. And she DID taunt and hit him. So he’s supposed to take nano seconds to rationalize? I don’t think so.
Just look at the photos showing the aftermath of the crash. The bullet hole in the windshield is your first clue. The second bullet hole in the driver’s side view mirror is your second clue.
Free Derek Chauvin! He was railroaded by a kangaroo court.
.
Even if that were the case, imagine if instead of the car she used a gun. Would her firing a gun at the agent and missing, then turning her side to him, prevent the agent from lawfully shooting her to prevent her from using her weapon on the people she was later aiming at? Keep in mind that in one camera angle there's another agent in front of her car that she was heading toward after she missed the first agent.
OMG!! I meant to put !!!!!!!! Thanks for that.<P<Poor Ross and his family!!!! They will be targeted now.
Cops have a saying: a split second to make a life or death decision and then all eternity for monday morning quarterbacks to pick it apart.

First of all, I’m asking - not claiming, what happened.
I can’t tell from the video.
Unlike the other 99.9999% on this forum, I have actually been there and done that.
” but the state could prosecute him for some form of homicide or manslaughter.”
Other lawyers have said that can’t happen, due to the Supremacy Clause and he was working as a Federal employee at the time of the incident.
Imagine being that man, doing your job as you were trained to do, and then looking over your shoulder waiting for LEOs to show up and take you away.
Like Derek Chauvin. Doing his job as trained. Now cooling his heels in prison.
As my Sunday School teacher said, “That ain’t right”.
Tim Walz signed this in 2020.
Statute 609.066 addresses use of deadly force by a peace officer & states the intentional discharge of a firearm in the direction of another person or at a vehicle occupied by another person constitutes deadly force. And emphasizes that peace officers should only use deadly force when necessary to defend human life or prevent great bodily harm.
If a puke like Andy Boy can’t find a way to blame the officer this was a very clear shoot.
No, it does not.
They’re still telling lies, leftists, democrat politicians, etc.
And the media is reporting said lies.
No accountability.
“the immediate threat to him no longer existed”
The video shows her steering right. That doesn’t mean she couldn’t then steer left.
I’m trying to think of a parallel with a gun. The robber leaves the bank. He has a gun. The gun barrel is pointed down. He is repeatedly told to drop the gun and refuses. He looks at a policeman, acquiring a target. Next?

Sell MN to the Canucks, it's been messed up for the last half of a century. Two less senators and house members to boot.
