The principles of ‌international law apply to ‌everyone, including the United States, German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil said on Sunday, in reference to ‍President Donald Trump's threats to seize Greenland.

"It is solely up to Denmark and Greenland to decide about Greenland's future. Territorial sovereignty and integrity must be respected," Klingbeil said ahead of his departure to Washington for a meeting of finance ministers from the Group of Seven ‌advanced economies.

Klingbeil said Germany has a strong interest in expanding international cooperation in this area in order to strengthen security of supply, reduce dependencies and ensure reliable economic framework conditions.

"That is why it is important that we consult with our international partners and - wherever possible - act together," he said.

The only Law that applies to the USA is Our Constitution and the Laws enacted by our government. Period.

Unfortunately, for us plebes, the US Constitution grants the Congress the power to engage in treaties which are de facto Constitutional powers according to the US Constitution itself.

There is only ONE immutable international law:

The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must.

It’s our hemisphere. The US is a superpower moving quickly now, acting in it’s own and the worlds best interest.

The gutless wonders in the EU are not our alies, they’re weak loser hanger-on’ers.

There is no such thing as "International Law".

There are treaties and agreements between nations. There is customary standards for interaction.

There is no "International Law".

Now go murder some more of your political rivals.

One is written down.

The other is just customs and standards of behavior.

Ask your dad to explain the difference to you.

‘One is written down.

Treaties are written down, agreed to and signed.

‘Ask your dad to explain the difference to you.’

Dad is 90 and cant explain anything anymore. You seem to be in the same position as he is.

What about my answer confused you dear?

Is the difference between things being written down and signed as an agreement and things that are done that way because of custom with nothing being written down or formally agreed on to much for your single brain cell to understand?

Maybe you can now get past your irrational fear and hated of him.

Nah. Probably not.

‘ What about my answer confused you dear?’

Well sugar tits, your logic, your point, your lack of distinction between agreed upon standards of practice. You know, stuff like that.

If we, as a country, agree and sign on to standards of practice it is essentially indistinguishable from a law. If it can be tossed aside when inconvenient, it’s all meaningless. If that’s the case, we have no standing in using them to enforce what we want. Like using UN resolutions to justify invading other countries.

‘Is the difference between things being written down and signed as an agreement and things that are done that way because of custom with nothing being written down or formally agreed on to much for your single brain cell to understand?’

Yeah, you’re right. That paragraph was written by 1/2 a brain cell.

‘Maybe you can now get past your irrational fear and hated of him.

Nah. Probably not.’

Him? There was no mention of a ‘him’ in this thread.

All treaties can be tossed aside, Fuzzy.

You obviously do not know how treaties work.

‘ All treaties can be tossed aside, Fuzzy.’

As can laws.

‘ You obviously do not know how treaties work.’

Treaties and laws only work with compliance and enforcement.

Toss them aside, don’t enforce, whatcha got? Anarchy.

You an anarchist? Or merely an opportunist?
