Many AT readers will be aware that my judgment can be harsh regarding police-involved homicides and shootings. The reasons for that are simple: cops represent authority, and do so while bearing firearms. That being the case, the power dynamic is always tilted in the direction of law enforcement. So they had better have their ducks lined up perfectly in cases where things go south.
That understood, it seems clear to me that Wednesday’s ICE shooting in Minneapolis is completely justified given the circumstances. I would go so far as to say that the circumstances here override any particular details of the case. An incident of this sort needs to be judged in context, and the context here is plain: this is culmination of an open campaign by leftists to derail ICE officers engaged in carrying out their duties.
This campaign has been active the better part of a year, and has consisted of mobbing, physical assaults, sniper attacks, and in particular, assaults by motor vehicle. Nobody requires an explanation as to how being struck by a car of SUV can be fatal. There’s good reason why such attacks are legally classed as assaults with a deadly weapon. Which is what happened in Minneapolis. ICE officers were attacked. One of them responded while under attack as he saw fit. Nobody outside of the situation has any business second-guessing him.
That particularly goes for Mayor Jacob Frey, who responded with a wild-eyed rant in which he demanded that ICE “Get the f*** out.” Soon to be ex-governor Tim Walz took the opportunity to attack both President Trump and Homeland Security Kristi Noem. Neither made any effort to calm the situation or get people off the streets. Clearly, there’s no conceivable situation in which a Democrat won’t try to take political advantage.

Of course, the fact that this occurs at the exact moment when the Somali daycare scandal has demonstrated the need to clear out criminal immigrants is pure coincidence.
The legal grounds here are clear: nobody has a right to interfere with federal agents involved in publicly fraught operations.
In May 1970, leftist mobs furious over a military incursion into Cambodia defied National Guard troops sent in to restore order at Kent State in Ohio and Jackson State in Mississippi. Beleaguered troops opened fire in both cases (investigation at Kent State suggested that they may have been fired upon first), killing four agitators in Ohio and 13 in Mississippi. Although there was a massive public uproar, nobody was tried or convicted over the shootings.
Also, not to put too fine a point on it, the riots ceased nationwide almost immediately.
The Left worked hard for this moment. But, as in 1970, it’s unlikely they’ll get what they want out of it.

That’s why she came with her “wife” and why the “wife” was taping the whole thing..if she really cared about her “wife” she would have yelled at her “Do what the officer says and get out of the car” she would have gotten arrested, and released the same day with probably a citation that would have been it, instead she tried to mow down a cop who was standing IN FRONT OF HER CAR..not saying he should have done that, personally I would NOT have been in front of a car you never know what might happen but still he was in front of the car and she knew that and instead of just stepping out of the car and doing what the officer said, she decided to floor it, it was a stupid move on her part and I think it was all part of the plan she wanted to be a martyr

The thing is both sides are getting what they want, there is going not to be a calming effect anytime soon, other than the weather getting back to do the cold end of the range for the month of Jan. Both political sides raise untold millions on immigration, neither really care two cents for the immigrants. Legal immigrants the stats are preaty clear, become tax payers in 3 years or are looking for a slower life back home.
That a dyed hair lefist poet lesbian protestor lost her life after a running game with ICE and her girlfriend is left sobbing because they were pushed to it by the locals, is PURE BONUS for both sides.
The immigrants who do not belive rules are serious should spend less on legal bills, identiy swaping and pack up and move south, north, east or west.
At this point ICE is MORE THAN willing to declare victory if you send a post card that you self deported as soon as you settle back in native lands. Wrap up your affairs and take you ill gotten gains and get in line back in a land of very cheap living. We know most immigrants sent a fortune back and should be supported in the way they sent support.

These ugly AFL lesbians all think holding a phone will protect them from all dangerous situations. They poke and poke and poke and agitate for violence. These horrible white females think they are invincible. It reminds me of the people who will go up to a lion in a cage and keep poking the tiger. The first ten times the lion just growls and snarls and the eleventh time the lion rips off their arm. Then they are shocked SHOCKED that the lion does lion stuff.

Agreed. The days of a thinking your typical lefty won’t just kill you while you’re standing in front of their car long passed. But it happened really fast and the guy had already been dragged down the road by another democrat.
Reminds me of when people will stand on the sind of a road, just outside the solid white line with cars going by at 60 mph. That white line will NOT protect you.
