U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention removed six vaccines from the recommended list for American children on Monday, a sweeping decision that could have widespread consequences for U.S. public health.
Before Monday, the CDC had recommended vaccines against 17 different diseases for children across the nation, but the decision announced Monday cut that number to 11.
The vaccines removed from the list include shots for rotavirus, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, influenza and meningitis, according to documents released by the federal Health Department.
Shots against measles, mumps, rubella, polio, pertussis, tetanus, diphtheria, haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib), pneumococcal disease, HPV and chickenpox remain recommended. However, the CDC cut the number of recommended HPV shots from two to one.
While the federal government does not mandate vaccines, most states make their own vaccine requirements based on the CDC’s list of recommended vaccines.
Numerous public health experts slammed the move, which upended years of precedent and bypassed traditional decision-making structures.
“Abandoning recommendations for vaccines that prevent influenza, hepatitis and rotavirus, and changing the recommendation for HPV without a public process to weigh the risks and benefits, will lead to more hospitalizations and preventable deaths among American children,” said Michael Osterholm of the Vaccine Integrity Project.
Other vaccines, including those for RSV and both types of hepatitis, were recommended only for “high-risk groups,” the CDC said. Despite the changes, insurance companies are still expected to cover the costs of all the vaccines through 2026.

Polio Vaccine yes.
That's WAY too many poisons to be putting into kids.
Excellent!
what I voted for. MAHA!
To me, the key is to not double/triple up on them. Plus, they’ve already taken out the mercury in the diluent.
Vaccines are good.
But we, like so often is the case, took things to an extreme, beyond the point where it makes sense.
Not every vaccine makes sense for every person.
Even though big pharma would like to see all their products made required for public schools, immigration, etc.
Some real variables: (1) Employment, (2) travel, (3) age, (4) sex, (5) race, (6) pre-existing medical conditions, (7) state of health (obesity and fitness level), (8) sexual behaviors and your (9) personal values.
—Why not administer the Anthrax vaccine to everyone?
—How about a medication to prevent HIV?
—There’s a TB vaccine too.
—Malaria vaccine.
—Smallpox has been mostly eradicated, but outbreaks still occur. Let’s vaccinate!
The answer is really simple. All of these medications or vaccines ALSO have side effects and carry some degree of risk. Some more, some less.
COERCING someone to take a medication which really unlikely has any benefit for them, is frankly unethical.
Misusing the “herd immunity” argument to push for mass vaccination, knowing it is not a valid argument, is unprofessional, a form of deception.
I’m happy RFK is rolling some of the stupidity back. Sadly, it’s also at the state level, like here in Texas where we coerce parents into having their kids get the HPV vaccine.
On a personal note, I’m not anti-vaccine. I think you’re nuts if you don’t get vaccinated for tetanus as an example. Anyone could step on a rusty nail, it’s pretty bad if you get it, the vaccine is highly effective, and the side effects extremely rare. It’s a simple cost benefit analysis where things sway in favor for the vaccine for most people.
But we are reaching the bottom of the barrel.
We today are recommending vaccines that really only apply to certain groups, not everyone, that are questionable in their effectiveness...
Covid and the government reaction violated two basic ideas which have been the gold standard in vaccines: “informed consent.”
That should never happen again.
Seems like a reasonable reduction to me.
Should be interesting to see the effect this has on children’s health overall.
I wonder what autism rates will do.
And there’s a world of difference between not recommending something and banning it. If people want it bad enough, it should be available for them.
But enough with mandating stuff like this.
Ping
I don’t know any specific informed consent requirements relating to immunization, maybe that depends on the state.
RFK Jr doesn’t want to make this personal to his credit but the flu vaccine did significantly worsen his spasmodic dysphonia, which was extremely mild, closer to his sisters case, before a random shot. When he started putting the pieces together while litigating a case against pharma it suddenly got very real.
Of course the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) came out against this action. Prolly impacts their kickbacks from Big Pharma ...
Every “recommended” vaccine is billions for big pharma.
So I’ve done a small bit of research into Tetanus. Before the vax existed, there were about 300 cases a year. After the vax, 50-60 a year. Both are statistically insignificant numbers as a percentage of population.
Plus, I’ve also read that it’s not a rusty nail. It’s actually caused by horse manure in the soil from up to 100 years ago.
Given the utter lies from the corrupt medical establishment, I deeply distrust most things they say.
CDC overhauls childhood vaccine schedule to resemble Denmark in unprecedented move
The new U.S. guidelines recommend all children get vaccines for 11 diseases, compared with the 18 previously on the schedule.

Good points.
The bottom line is that what vaccines, if any, how administered and when, is a very personal choice and the gold standard of past, “informed consent,” should never have been violated during Covid.
If I live on a ranch and work with horses, maybe that vaccine makes sense.
Our medical establishment is all about making money. That’s it. Making money.
They try to make the most they can and spend a lot on advertising (#4 overall):
https://cdn.statcdn.com/Infographic/images/normal/19241.jpeg
They push hard politically, lobbying and influencing politicians by greatly contributing to political campaigns on BOTH sides of the political spectrum. They are (#1) in trying to buy the politician:
Sometimes it’s very obvious and when a Republican does it, the MSM “might” even ask some questions: https://edition.cnn.com/2011/09/15/opinion/krumholz-beckel-perry-pharmaceutical
It was obvious what happened in Texas with Rick Perry. Help bankroll his campaign and your vaccine becomes required in public schools.
They try very hard to shape public policies to PUSH their product, or to even have tax dollars fund the consumption of their product.
The bottom line is that it should be “informed consent” and it’s a personal decision because it is “your body, your money, and your values.” Much of the public funding so you have “free” vaccines for all with big pharma raking in billions in tax dollars needs to end. It’s essentially a corrupt scam.
Accurate disclosure of the risks and benefits, where the real statistical data from the studies is presented, should be required.
Instead, the “informed” part becomes no more than another advertising plug that neglects any sort of real data leaving the potential patient/customer effectively uninformed. Not even that part do we get right.
