EXPULSION
Before examining the strategic calculus behind the January 3, 2026, military operation in Venezuela, it is essential to understand who actually makes decisions of this magnitude. In the American national security apparatus, the Pentagon does not await presidential direction on major military operations. The Pentagon assesses threats, evaluates strategic priorities, and determines when military action crosses from option to necessity. The president then executes what the military establishment has already decided is required.

Keep.the oil out of the hands of China. That’s why.
Exterminate all CCP presence in the Western Hemisphere!!!
My response would be, so what if the decision to take out Maduro was oil, if we get a steady supply of oil from Venezuela that helps keep prices lower, it lowers the income to Russia, along with a number of other benefits.
If we lower the number of drugs being imported into the USA and putting Maduro behind bars are all good things as well.
Keep ChiComs, Iranians and Russians out of this hemisphere
Keep ChiComs, Iranians and Russians out of this hemisphere
Exactly, and Iranian and Russian.
“...if we get a steady supply of oil from Venezuela
it lowers the income to Russia...”
-
I don’t understand how that works.
Indeed!
Works for me.
The oil is just the icing on the yummy cake !
Will American Companies go back to Venezuela?
Russia depends on oil and gas for income to continue the war in Ukraine, if the price of oil and gas drops significantly, what Russia can sell their oil and gas for also goes down.
Oil and Gas are commodities, another 3-4 million barrels of oil being sold into the commodities market lowers the price, it’s a classic supply/demand situation.
I believe the major oil companies are already planning their return, as soon as the situation stabilizes, the companies will flood country with people and materials to modernize the infrastructure in Venezuela and begin pumping the 3-4 million barrels Venezuela used to pump versus the 500k they pump now.
Moving Venezuela’s oil reserves, as well as whatever mineral and REE reserves they might have, from BRICS to USA would be a significant shift in geopolitical balance, as would be the fall of Iran’s government. Pushing China, Russia and Iran out of our hemisphere would be a huge win for America. But, these political shifts are not a given yet.
Of course, most of Venezuela’s oil will continue to go to China. In fact, probably more than ever if Chevron takes over. But if we have some control over that oil, it could give Trump a new bargaining chip in dealing with Xi. If things work out, China will have to pay for that oil in US Dollars...
Russia depends on high oil prices to generate income.
Increasing world oil supply relative to demand reduces oil prices.
The greens must be in a state of absolute panic as this situation plays out.
/eyeroll
In 2009 Iran procured uranium from Bolivia and Venezuela...
I wonder who told this person these things?
Or do they mind read so as to know what motivates others.
