One of the classic definitions of antisemitism is insisting on one standard of morality and/or legality for the Jewish people, but a very different one for everyone else. For example — and I’m pulling this silly, unrealistic example out of a hat — if an American politician vowed to arrest the duly-elected Israeli leader but decried the arrest of the illegitimately elected Venezuelan leader, your Antisemitism Detector should start beeping.
Especially when the Venezuelan leader was a wanted fugitive under American law — and the Israeli leader was not.
Welcome to the manic mind of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, where there’s one standard of “justice” for Israel and the Jews, and another for everyone else. Just days after swearing to “support the Constitution of the United States,” and thus the laws of our country, the young mayor decided to ignore American law and instead follow international law.
Even when American law explicitly forbids the arrest of the Israeli leader on American soil.
Because Mayor Mamdani hasn’t backed down from his threat to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
"Being a city of international law means looking to uphold international law," Mamdani said. "And that means upholding the warrants from the International Criminal Court, whether they're for Benjamin Netanyahu or Vladimir Putin."
But New York City is an American city governed by American law — as codified by the same U.S. Constitution that Mamdani just swore to faithfully uphold. And, as the Times of Israel accurately noted, American law is clear:

He’ll be tried in NYC at the federal court. Eyes will be on Mamdani pretending he has any jurisdiction. He doesn’t. That’s not to say that dems won’t control the fed judge there. They likely do.
Mamdani might do well to understand that more American people are unhappy with him being in charge of NYC than are unhappy with Trump in any leadership role

During the mayoral election, all the candidates were on a debate stage, and were asked once they became mayor, what foreign nation would they visit first.
Like lemmings, every single one said “Israel.”
Mamdani, who was last in line, was clever and said “I would stay in New York, because I will focus on the problems of New Yorkers,” which probably won him some votes.
The irony is - Mamdani is, more than any Mayor previously, constantly injecting himself, NY City (and now the Mayor’s Office) into foreign disputes - where he has NO POWER to do anything!
Commies like Mamdami have no rational thought or common sense.
How long before Mamdani tries to visit Maduro in the Brooklyn House of Detention. Also it will be interesting who funds the expensive lawyers who will defend Maduro. Maduro will become a focal rallying point for the anti Trump left.

The Dems will criticize whatever Trump does. If Trump praised Maduro, the Dems wou!d be calling for Maduro to be overthrown.
I continue to be amazed about how Democrat mayors think they’re qualified to spout off on national and international matters.
Perhaps Mamdani will now give us his opinion on Japan’s last national election.
