President Donald Trump said on Friday, January 2, that the United States is "locked and loaded" to respond if Iran kills protesters, prompting Tehran to warn that intervention would destabilize the region. Protesters and security forces clashed in several Iranian cities on Thursday, with at least six reported killed, the first deaths since the unrest escalated.

Intervention would “destabilize the region”? News flash. The region is already plenty destabilized, intervention may be the only alternative for a path back to stability.
If there is no immediate threat to the US then let Iran rot on its own terms, not ours.

I’m in favor of fixing problems, not kicking the can down the road. The mullahs will continue to be a problem for the U.S. and the world as long as they remain in power. Allowing them to remain in power simply means in 10 years, the world will have to deal with Iranian WMDs once again.

No, that is exactly what he campaigned for!
First:
He has said hundreds of times during the campaign that America would follow a Peace Through Strength strategy. That is what he is doing now.
Secondly:
He has ALSO always said he would pursue an America First policy.
Well, diminishing our number enemy’s strength by reducing its WMD threat IS America first policy right there. Thats why Trump authorized those Moab bombs on Iran. But the job wasn’t finished. So let’s finish the job making sure America can remain First.
Iranians were very secular and modernistic prior to the Islamist Revolution of 1979 and a large part of their population has resented the backward fanatics in charge ever since.
Trump campaigned against endless wars. Decisive force that puts an end to the mullah regime once and for all, rather than the half measures we’ve seen in the past, is the best way to put an end to the endless, on again off again conflicts that have plagued the region for decades.
Allowing the mullahs to survive so they can rebuild their military and regain their strength is the best way to ensure that the region remains in perpetual conflict.

Getting involved would be bad. Either head us into war or we might have to take in thousands of refugees. Either I am opposed too.
Prayers to the protestors that they can topple the regime but we have to stop being involved in other people’s wars.

Absolutely. The mullahs have provided the world more than enough proof over the years that they will never live in peace with their neighbors.
The only reason America is still number one in the world, is because one way or the other it knows how to get involved all over planet earth. It has to be done in a smart way though. I think Trump knows how to handle this the way it should.
Probably get along fine with Shiite neighbors. And their Sunni neighbors don’t get along with them.
