Nigerian official refuses to rule out AMERICAN troops on the ground after working with Trump to bomb ISIS

American troops may be deployed on the ground after President Trump's bombing of ISIS targets, a Nigerian official has suggested.

Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar said his government had not ruled out working with American troops, something Trump has suggested in recent weeks.

Tuggar said the issue would be something for the Nigerian government to 'consider', when asked by CNN about Trump's threats to send in the US military 'guns-a-blazing' this week.

On Thursday, the Pentagon said the Nigerian government approved the strikes and collaborated with the US military to carry them out.

However, the official also pushed back on Trump's justification for the strikes, which he has said were because ISIS terrorists in Nigeria have been 'targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians.'

Tuggar rejected the framing of the conflict as a religious one, and said the action 'would show clearly that it is a strike against terrorism ... and that it is not to do with religion, is to do with protecting Nigerians and innocent lives.'

'When you try to reduce it to just say, ‘Oh, no, it’s Muslims killing Christians in Nigeria,’ you see how you can get it completely wrong. It’s a regional conflict,' he told Nigerian broadcaster Channels Television on Friday.

Trump announced the 'powerful and deadly' strike on ISIS 'terrorist scum' in Nigeria on Christmas Day, and warned that radicals will continue to pay for the persecution of Christians.

The president, who previously threatened to send the US military to the West African nation 'guns-a-blazing,' made the announcement in a Truth Social post Thursday evening.

“it is not to do with religion”

So which one is NOT a religion; Muslim terrorists or the slain, innocent Christians?

A big reason for Europe to accept primary responsibility for Europe, is that we have concerns throughout the world. Europe, when it was dependent on the U.S., degraded our defense of our vital national interests by sapping our strength. Europe, re-armed and entirely capable of taking care of business there, becomes a partner of ours in mutual defense.

I could say the same thing about Nigeria. Are the Nigerians going to be like the Iraqis and the Afghans, and just cut and run at the first sight of ISIS or of the Taliban? Or, are they going to take primary responsibility for their country?

We, the U.S., can be very helpful for those who will stand and fight. We have assets such as intelligence, logistics, and stand-off munitions like nobody in the world has. But, we, the U.S., should not ever, ever, ever be the defenders of retards and cowards who won’t stand up for themselves.

Fortunately, “Nigerian officials” are not in charge of US troop deployments.

Kind of weird.
Nigeria is rather big country and they have lots of oil money.
I always wondered, why they cannot solve their own problems.
I am basically a hawk, and I do not object helping small countries attacked by big bullies, or destroyed by communism.
But Nigeria should be able to solve their own problems!

The problem is that if we do nothing, we'll see that the Muslims will eventually conquer all of Nigeria.

Locals in Nigeria are saying the terrorists kill Muslims and Christians alike .

There really shouldn’t be any complaints but some Nigerians say it sends the wrong message to say if it’s only about Christians

I have to wonder if they are “ ISIS “ , that tag is somewhat questionable .

Boko Haram , of bring back our girls fame operate in Nigeria. There are other groups as well.

Exactly right on all counts. And should any leftist dems or spineless RINOs start squawking about helping embattled Christians to defend themselves against bloodthirsty Islamic savages, just remind them of their slanderous “genocide” claims when the Israelis merely did the same.

Why do they need American troops on the ground? Nigeria ought to have enough troops being one of the most populous country in Africa.
