A horse tranquilizer was making the rounds of my college campus in the early 70s. I saw one fellow I knew through friends nearly kill himself over the course of a few weeks on the stuff. Some people will do almost anything to get high and there’s not much really new under the sun.
You would think that making a product that kills your customers would be a bad business model.
Side effect as it wears off is it leaves you howling at the moon....
Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blue by Bob Dylan.
Sweet Melinda, the peasants call her the goddess of gloom
She speaks good English and she invites you up into her room.
And you’re so kind and careful not to go to her too soon
And she takes your voice and leaves you howling at the moon.
Up on Housing Project Hill, it’s either fortune or fame

If you’re lookin’ to get silly, you better go back to from where you came
Because the cops don’t need you, and man, they expect the same
Let them be. Let them die. They fund narcoterror in other countries poorer than ours. It is their chouce. Make it their problem. Leave them on the street. Feed and house instead the millions feeing the narcoterror of their home countries that these selfish ones cause.
Blame the druggies for the illegals. The illegals ought kick the druggies.
Look at Mexico and the futility there of being a good citizen or good local pol.
“ A horse tranquilizer was making the rounds of my college campus in the early 70s.” Are you referring to qualudes? Did the friends know how often or how many the one person was taking ? I had some friends taking them off and on, and they never seemed close to suicidal.
Not if your business is genocide...
No, this was some sort of powder. The fellow I mentioned somehow got hold of a baggy of the stuff and over the course of a few weeks deteriorated badly. PCP, I believe. Really nasty stuff.
