WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ruled out running for president in 2028 if Vice President JD Vance seeks the GOP nomination.
“If JD Vance runs for president, he’s going to be our nominee, and I’ll be one of the first people to support him,” Rubio told author Chris Whipple in an interview published Tuesday by Vanity Fair.
Rubio, 54, and Vance, 41, are widely viewed as the top two potential contenders to succeed term-limited President Trump on the Republican side.

At other times, I'd say "yeah, right". But I think I believe this one.
IMHO, Apart from the 'old guard' the GOP right now has a deeper bench than the Donkeys, if you're talking competency.

Then it’s a Vance-Rubio ticket

Yep, I imagine that these two already have made a gentleman’s agreement to that effect. A lot can happen in two years, but at this point I have no quarrel with a JDV-MR ticket.

What happened to all those FReepers who knew the back of Rubio’s head so well they could pick him out in a foam bath?
To: Tench_Coxe
Kudos. The right thing to do.

As of now, so am I, as long as I'm still alive in 2028.

Wait three years, if/when other candidates show up (looking at the Pence/Bushies).

Rubio has been the biggest surprise in a positive direction of any politician I ever recall.

Good deal. I always liked Rubio. I think DJT is runbing off. Rubio is doing a bangup job and he’s self actualized.
To: ImJustAnotherOkie
Rubio is doing an outstanding job just where he is. I hope he stays there during the next administration. I know he’d like to be president, but I think this is really where he belongs.

Rubio has been a star player. Vance too. They are a great pair for 2028 2032 and Rubio 2036 2040. I hope to live long enough to see the democrats absolutely destroyed and sent to hell where they came from.
