Bernie Kane & the ActBlue Scandal: Smurfing, Spoofing, and the New Frontiers of Campaign Laundering
Campaign Now ^ | August 1, 2025 | Samantha Fowler

Mark Block uncovered unauthorized ActBlue donations made in his name. The alias “Bernie Kane” was used to spoof conservative donors. Smurfing breaks large donations into small ones to avoid detection. ActBlue does not require ID verification for small-dollar donors. Watchdogs warn these loopholes could distort real campaign momentum. In 2023, Republican strategist Mark Block was surprised to receive a phone call alleging he had donated to Bernie Sanders. He initially dismissed it as an error but then saw proof. Small-dollar donations had been processed through ActBlue using his name and address, despite the fact that he had never contributed.

This illegal practice leaves electronic forensic evidence all over the place. Why is there no prosecution?

Just a day or two ago there was a new article on Gateway Pundit about the use of this practice during a recent election. It has disappeared! Why?

Why no prosecution? 3 possibilities:
1) Prosecuting attorneys have limited budget, limited staff. They have to pick and chose which to prosecute and which to regrettably ignore.
2) A few key players on both sides do it and put pressure on prosecutors to just drop it as if it doesn’t exist.

3) Most importantly, We, MAGA, American Citizens in general, our more interested in the suspicion and accusations than the hard work of developing the facts.

Look at vote fraud in GA. A lot of allegations and accusations in both the Dem primary by other Dems and in the final by MAGA Republicans. But nobody wanted to do the hard work of collecting the facts to back up the allegations.

We know there were vote harvesters who arranged for mail-in votes from non-citizens, from the dead, from vacant houses, vacant lots, etc. The hard work of specific addresses, specific names of registered voters, specific harvesters could have been obtained with a lot of shoe leather.

We know in 2020 many voters voted 3d party and against the top 2 candidates. We know 3d party votes were shifted from the 3d party candidates to the preferred major party candidate.

But we do not know how many votes were in this process. We know the allegations. But nobody did the hard, thankless shoe leather of collecting the facts.

(I collected the facts on vote fraud in IL in the past. It is thankless work.)

I should think if there was an unathorized political contribution made in someone else’s name that would be very much illegal, but if nothing is done about it we we will only get more of the same in the next election.....unless nothing is done & apparently that’s the case all too often. We are a nation of laws. It’s too bad we don’t use them.

Maybe this was just Mark Block trying to create an excuse for why it looks like he donated to Act Blue. Maybe he really did.

Herman Cain’s worst enemy...

It’s his top aide and chief of staff Mark Block. This is now the second time he’s popped off with bogus assertions and insinuations. Not ready for prime time — or 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
