There’s been a lot of unsavory comments making the rounds on our side of the political divide the past twenty-four hours following the murder of Rob Reiner. Some people are evidently happy it occurred, or at least acting as if they are. Nope, they’re not going to say a single good word about Reiner. Nope, they weren’t going to sympathize. Nope, they just don’t care. In other words, they’re acting pretty much the same way the Left does when one of ours gets taken down.
That this is not acceptable goes without saying, particularly in a case like this. Reiner was murdered by his own son, his wife killed alongside him. (And likely, if Junior at all fits the blueprint of the kind of psychopath capable of committing such a crime, killed while Reiner was still alive, so that Dad would have to watch.) If that doesn’t chill you, doesn’t make you feel the touch of the cold and the dark at the center of this world, then you have no soul.
Part of the reasoning behind these responses lies in the claim that Reiner would have said the same in the case of a conservative being killed. But in fact, he didn’t. Dave Rubin, who seems to be consistently on top of stories like this one, found a video of Reiner discussing with Piers Morgan the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Reiner was appalled: “…it’s beyond belief what happened to him.” He went on to say that such actions are unacceptable in all circumstances. He added he was deeply moved by Erika Kirk’s eulogy for her husband.
And that, was the real Rob Reiner, after all the nonsense politics and TDS posturing was set aside. That deserves acknowledgement, at the very least.
So, in the end, Meathead came through. Edith would have been proud.

Why was he meeting with Obama that night? How involved was he in anti-Trump hoaxes?
Maybe that was the fake Rob Reiner speaking about Kirk? Maybe the real one was the one who spent almost everyday bashing the sitting President. I mean Hollywood is known to play make believe in front of the cameras.
They reaped literally what they sowed.
When you tempt people to hate you, in my experience, they normally don’t try to resist that temptation.
It’s only been a few days and already sick of hearing about Rob Reiner. He is not freaking martyr.
I’d say Bathhouse Barry and Big Mike were extremely involved in Russiagate.
That’s right.
What did Reiner say when Rush Limbaugh was killed?
I feel especially sorry for their daughter who discovered them dead. It will be hard to recover from seeing that.
As sad as this murder was, he mocked God his entire life and led an atheistic secular humanist lifestyle which is not good for children to grow up in.
My thoughts exactly.
I read heavily and he bankrolled rhem.
‘What did Reiner say when Rush Limbaugh was killed?’
Nothing good at all.
The article isn’t accurate. Apparently, the wife was still alive when the daughter found them. The daughter accompanied her Mother in the ambulance and the Mother told her that Nick did it right before she died in the ambulance.
“And that, was the real Rob Reiner, after all the nonsense politics and TDS posturing was set aside”
You are what you exude. He was leftist trash. One moment of compassion does not cancel a lifetime of projecting evil and lying. Glad he is gone, how he went was of no matter to me, he raised that kid and obviously failed or lived in denial and blamed others (like conservatives) more than likely, it is on him.
The old adage: If you can’t say something good, don’t say anything at all.
I have nothing to say about Rob Reiner. I’m sorry for his wife and family (excluding his son).
I am not happy about it. It is a horrible family tragedy. However, I cannot pretend that I ever considered Reiner as friendly to conservatives. He was politically malicious using his wealth to foster his own pet liberal causes.
Nevertheless, RIP and prayers for his surviving daughter.
I read that the son gouged their eyes out. Ghoul.
There were quite a few leftists who wore costumes with a bloody neck and laughed about it.
He also made some beautiful movies conservatives enjoyed. His comments about Charlie Kirk and his wife were were heartfelt. And he loved and tried to help his horrible ‘son’ for years - I’m going with ‘good man’ who held horrible political beliefs.
