An alleged intruder armed with a hammer was shot dead Thursday morning around 7:00 a.m. by a Gulfport, Mississippi, woman who had a protective order against him.
WLOX reported that two women were home at the time of the alleged intrusion and that both women had a protection order against the man.
The alleged intruder entered through a window and attacked one woman, who was able to get to another room in the house to keep herself safe. The second woman grabbed a gun and shot the man, killing him.
The Sun Herald noted that the alleged intruder, identified as 29-year-old Dangelo Rayjvon Murphy, was trying to get the woman who had hidden for safety when the second woman shot him.
Gulfport police Lt. Jason Ducré indicated Murphy “had been out of jail on bond at the time of the attack for allegedly kidnapping one of the women.”
Murphy reportedly had a knife in addition to the hammer.

We don’t know all the facts, but it sounds like the women did nothing wrong and that this should not even be news.
I just watched The Girl Hunters (1963) starring Mickey Spillane (the author of the novel and the screenplay) and Shirley Eaton just before she was in Goldfinger.
To honor his promise to the federal agent in keeping the bad guy alive, after a brutal fight in which he nearly was cut by a buzz saw, Hammer drops an axe and picks up a hammer (to pound a nail into the hand of the unconscious thug to keep him in place since no handcuffs).
Critic said using a hammer was shameless for Mike Hammer but Spillane laughed it off. Odd fact. Hammer did not kill anyone in the entire movie, not one. Another, a thug takes off his hat and spins it like a frisbee just missing a guy’s neck. Sort of an Oddjob idea for someone else’s movie later on.
A movie? Dangelow Unchained.
The alternative which would be news would be the story where a man out on parole entered a home and killed two occupants, one of which he had a restraining order against.
In addition, here on Free Republic, we often highlight stories where some in these United States are able to exercise their inalienable right to keep and bear arms in a defensive situation in contrast to others in these United States who are denied that right by tyrannical politicians in certain states.
Leftists suppress these stories because they want to take away your right to keep and bear arms.

The car is probably one of the biggest murder instruments, but it’s often an “accident.” The real numbers of vehicular homicide are probably far-far greater.
Hammers, screw drivers, baseball bats, the not so accidental OD on meds, drugs, and of course knives.
People will use what’s readily available to them and that’s also the folly in gun laws.
Ban guns and if the death rate drops at all, it’s because of other socio economic variables, not mans endless desire with killing each other.
Usually liberals will claim victory as they present “gun related deaths” as decreasing, but ignore the fact that the total murder rate stays nearly unchanged.
In some cases the overall murder rates actually increased after gun laws were passed!
The only constant in all of this is that the MSM is generally liberal, favors ever more gun laws, and generally spins the news by what they choose to write about, or how they frame it.
It’s refreshing to see anyone write something like this at all. The hammer is a weapon and a homeowner defended himself with a gun (positive not negative).

That's D'Angelo who died from cancer. His name, which is a real name would be pronounced "DEE-ANjul-oh". I don't know if D'Angelo was ever arrested for anything, certainly not kidnapping.
The allegedly dead alleged perp in this alleged situation didn't have that kind of clothing style.

A lady I worked with in the 70’s was beaten by a date who dropped her off at her home. He left, and she called a male friend who came over with a gun. The perp returned and kicked her door down, I knew his intent was to kill her. That was his last act. The good guy with a gun shot him in the head.
