Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) is expected to shake up the Senate race with a Monday announcement that she plans to run for the seat that Republican John Cornyn holds. If she officially files, Crockett will face off in the March 3 Democratic primary against state Rep. James Talarico. Meanwhile, Colin Allred, who ran against Sen. Ted Cruz two years ago and had hinted at another Senate run, is exiting the race to return to the House.
Whoever emerges from the Democratic primary, and polls suggest Crockett is likely to do so, will face the winner of the GOP primary between incumbent Cornyn, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and Rep. Wesley Hunt.
“Voters are looking for someone who’s unapologetic in defending our values and who is plain spoken and knows how to speak the language of the everyday person,” said Kardal Coleman, chairman of the Dallas County Democratic Party, according to the Dallas Morning News. “All of them are going to be skilled campaigners and skilled communicators, but the person who can really exemplify what it means to be a Texas Democrat is going to have the most success.”
...
Despite being the frontrunner in the primary, not everyone is convinced that she’s ready for a promotion. “The more we learn about Jasmine Crockett, the more clear it is that she’s the worst possible candidate to run for Senate in Texas,” one Democratic strategist told Fox News Digital earlier this month. “Recent weeks have shown she’s just not ready for primetime.”

Ambitious isn't she?! Not even two full terms in The House and she is trying for The Senate.
If nothing else it will be entertaining.
Go ghetto ho, go.
That’s Our Jazzy.
I don’t see how the sensitive, so tolerant democrats can vote for someone who called a disabled man in a wheel chair ‘Governor Hot Wheels’; or changes her dialect depending on her audience. The woman is a classless, disrespectful slob.
Following the Barack Obama career plan. Obama shot up from being state senator to U.S. senator in 2004, then next step the WH.
Likewise, they're now wanting juicy divorce details from Crockett's main Republican opponent, Paxton, just like they did with Obama's 2004 US senate opponent Jack Ryan (posts 33 and 39 in the above FR link).
My in-house counsel went to law school with Jasmine.
She’s pretty liberal and says “she’d make me vote for Ken Paxton.”
She’s apparently dumb as a box of rocks, extremely racist, and extremely entitled. Would have flunked out of law school, but for her magic skin.
The perfect Dem candidate!
Personally, I always wonder how Crockett, James, Willis, and yes, Harris, got through law school and further managed to pass the bar. Because they all seem dumb as rocks and ignorant of the law!
It’s (D)ifferent when they do it. Totally acceptable.
“or changes her dialect depending on her audience”
I ain’t noways tarred.
Because they all seem dumb as rocks and ignorant of the law!
I don’t think they are dumb at all. They are smart enough to know how dumb the voters are, and what to say to get their support.
“I promise a MAC Donald’s Big Mac in every pot”!!
She’ll likely opt for the Senate race because the competition in the Democrat primary is so weak. But maybe they aren’t as weak as she is.
Instead, Crockett could choose to run for the House again, win easily (in a general election in a ghetto district) and — if Democrats take the House in 2026 which is hardly impossible — be in line for some kind of prime committee position.
Yeah yeah, one of the 3 Dallas-area ghetto districts has been eliminated, but there are still 2 left (for 3 incumbents) and she would likely win whichever House primary she enters rather effortlessly given the VAST amount of money she already has in the bank.
But a chance at the Senate is likely to be too much for this ugly arrogant ‘ho to pass up.
Zero chance to win a statewide election in Texas. If there was less than a zero chance then that would be the chance she has. None, zilch, nada. She’s just a bag of hot air at this point.
Good riddance.
“Likewise, they’re now wanting juicy divorce details from Crockett’s main Republican opponent, Paxton, just like they did with Obama’s 2004 US senate opponent Jack Ryan...”

Speaking as a long time Texas conservative, the Paxton situation is quite troubling. While he takes strong and principled positions that most conservatives agree with, he has so little self-discipline that he entered into an illicit affair (in a Dallas area hotel) just a few weeks prior to announcing his challenge to Cornyn.
If he manages to survive the runoff next May (with either Cornyn or Wesley Hunt), he will enter the general election in a weakened position. Imagine the TV ads that will follow: Proponent of posting 10 commandments in public schools while he himself violates the one about committing adultery. If Democrats are stupid enough to nominate Crockett, he would probably survive, although Democrats would be sure to pour millions into this race.
Lots of pro-family groups in Texas have already distanced themselves from Paxton. Trump has remained silent on this one. Too bad Paxton couldn’t keep his zipper zipped.
“I don’t see how the sensitive, so tolerant democrats can vote for someone who called a disabled man in a wheel chair ‘Governor Hot Wheels’ . . .”
She actually called the governor “high wheels” which is worse that hot wheels.
Her reference to “high wheels” leaves no doubt she was making a reference to a wheel chair. She afterwards attempted to claim she wasn’t referring a wheel chair.
I wonder what accent will be her primary choice during the campaign.
Perhaps she’ll go with a chicano thing for this race.
She doesn’t stand a chance, unless she changes her name to ‘Beto’ Crockett.
And then, she’ll get as close as 30 points behind the republican.
Afterwards, she’ll have a better title for when she goes on the interviews circles, known as ‘former senate candidate’ and not as former congresswoman.
I guess if you are going to fail, it’s best to fail big.
I cannot imagine her getting “close” to winning.
Every news report I’ve seen references ‘Hot Wheels’, to the extent that the Governor has actually embraced the nickname, to make fun of her:
