Do Something About Prices, Republicans, Or You’re Going To Lose

I absolutely love seeing the left-wingers and corporate media squirm and whine about deportations, I really do. Every little story about how someone who “never did nothing to nobody” that ends with someone here unlawfully makes me smile. “No one is above the law,” Democrats routinely say without irony, which is fighting harder than they fight for anyone other than child genital mutilation to keep gang members, wife beaters and any other kind of illegal alien from being subjected to our laws.

They hate you, they hate us, they hate everything and want to see whatever they can’t control be destroyed so they can replace it with institutions designed to make you subservient to them. And third-worlders who can’t speak English or even read in their own language will always be subservient/obedient to them.

This is why I’m hopeful about the midterms. Americans are sick of politicians who are more interested in foreign criminals – and every one of them is a criminal, it’s just a matter of degrees as to how far up the criminal scale they go – than protecting Americans. “They commit fewer crimes than Americans do!” is a made-up “stat,” as liberal states forbid the collection of data on the immigration status of their prisoners to hide what they know to be true. Plus, every victim of illegal alien crime would NOT have been victimized were the illegal alien NOT in the country to commit it. Like the death penalty, having a 100 percent success rate in combatting recidivism, keeping illegal aliens out of the country has a 100 percent success rate in preventing illegal alien crime.

Everyone knows this; the only question is whether they care or not. Sadly, there isn’t a Democrat who cares. They will rush to meet illegal aliens in ICE custody, but will avoid the families of illegal aliens' crimes. They claim it’s because they’re “not welcome” there and they want to respect the wishes of the families, but why do you think they’re not welcome? It’s because their policies – what they prioritize over everything else – are a major factor in what caused their loved ones to suffer.

They truly are scum.

But scum win elections, unfortunately. There are a lot of Democrats, either too stupid or too rich to realize or care about the impacts of the policies of Democrats, who will vote for them like obedient dogs or caretakers at a zoo. Everything is an abstract to the rich, and everything is the fault of Republicans to the poor, according to Democrat talking points. And they work on about 40 percent of the population.

The deciders in elections are the people who don’t really buy into the hype of the left or the right; they just want to live their lives. But to do that, they need to be able to afford to do it. When you can’t feed or house yourself or your family, nothing else matters, no matter how much you care about it. You can be the most closed-border person on the planet, or the most open, but if you’re hungry or afraid to be evicted because you can’t afford rent, the border can wait. If you can’t afford to feed your family, literally nothing else matters. And if someone either promises to “fix” that problem for you, or is in a position to do so now and isn’t moving fast enough, everything else you agree with them on is irrelevant.

Yes, the problems of affordability are a direct result of the failures of the Biden administration and what Democrats in Congress sent him to autopen into law, but the deciders in the electorate are not connecting those dots because, well, they don’t care. They live in the now, not the then. Elections are about what comes next, now what came before.

If Republicans don’t do things to lower the cost of living – real things like cutting red tape, generating more electricity (and not just for data centers), and getting rid of tariffs (yes, I know) – then expect to lose next year, no matter how much polling shows people agree with us on the “below the fold” issues. Not being able to afford to live will always be more important than boys' in girls' sports, no matter how important that is.

Cutting “tariff checks” to everyone will NOT solve this problem. Tax cuts will NOT solve this problem. Plowing the road to get all the obstacles big government has put in the way of growth and success will. And I know, President Trump loves tariffs, but if complaints about the price of coffee and bananas caused him to eliminate tariffs on those goods, he knows they caused the high prices.

We need materials to build homes to come into the country that are more affordable, which the tariffs would do. Think of that for everything. Judicious use of tariffs is wildly effective, but they are not the right tool for every job – think of them as a hunting rifle rather than a shotgun. They are more stick than carrot, effective when negotiating with other countries.

But we aren’t negotiating with other countries when we go to the grocery store or pay our electric bills; we’re trying to survive. If you can’t do that, nothing else matters, no matter how much you love it.

Republicans and the White House can’t convince people that things could be worse because what could be does not override what is, even if it’s true. Some form of affordability is the top issue in every poll; if they don’t address that, nothing else will matter. Then things will get exponentially worse, as reinstalling the people who caused a problem is never the key to fixing it and Democrats won’t care about making things worse, as that is a feature of their agenda, not a bug.

Derek is an idiot.

Prices have come down and are coming down further. Look at gas, under $3/gallon on average.

Trump is not a miracle worker, but he’s done more than these “Republicans” he whines about.

On the other hand, anyone who actually expects Congress to do anything about consumer prices is clueless. A clueless idiot.

Prices won't come down. Prices shouldn't come down (apart from your odd energy prices, I guess). We don't need deflation. We need lower taxes, less regulation, better energy policies, better opportunities due to tariffs, stable money.

The propaganda media is broadcasting the lie that there was no inflation until 47 got into office and the low iq voters ate buying it.

Increase deportations since most illegals are a net drain on federal spending (they take out more than they pay in).

Idea before the midterms.

Have government mandated wage and price controls.
Guaranteed income.
Single Payer Universal Health Care system with no private insurance allowed.
Mandated higher minimum wage.
Socialist run food distribution centers to replace all food stores with free food for minority and immigrant shoppers.
Free buses and commuter trains.

Did I go wrong somewhere? /S

The other party is going to promise these giveaways.

See if Mamdani ends up the most popular politician in the country by the midterms.

Break up the big meat packers who control 80 percent of the beef industry.
Break up the big two egg producers.
Break up the ag cartel…Cargill, ADM, Bunge, Louis Dreyfus.
Break up the seed and fertilizer oligopolies.

Nixon tried wage and price controls in about 1970 or 1971 I think, it lasted a total of about 3 months before total chaos started and he folded.

Doesn’t matter at this point what the Republicans do, historically, with very few exceptions, the party in power in the White House loses House seats in off year elections.

I haven’t forgotten about the so called Red Wave that was supposed to happen in 2018.

Good point.

And when Americans can have those jobs again after the illegals leave, the economy will benefit.

Plus law enforcement budgets will be free of the waste of dealing with millions of criminals who got here from elsewhere.

Not to mention health care reimbursements and hotels to house some of the illegals.

It's not enough to be told that prices are coming down. People need to feel it in their pocketbook.

And it's nice that eggs and gas prices are creeping back down up until your electricity bill arrives looking more like a mortgage payment.

Rents are still through the roof. Buying a house is out of range for many Americans. A new car costs a fortune (never mind the car insurance bill). That new coffee machine you need because your old one broke now costs twice as much as it did the last time you bought one. College expenses, your Obamacare premium, and on and on...

It's more than just grocery prices.

I remember that. Was the worst Nixon mistake of trying to be compassionate and compromising. The pent up demand to raise prices as soon as the lid blew off was bad. As were the union demands for pay raises once the plan was over.

its gonna take years to get inflation “under control”. Biden caused this directly...last time this happened was when LBJ and his “great society”spending caused inflation. It took 20 years and Ronald Reagan before it finally got corrected. Theres not going to be a “soft landing”..not gonna happen. Once the economy slows down, which will cause high unemployment, then it will finally “correct” and prices get back in line. Just a hard fact.

People who go by feelings over those who see X’s and O’s are less likely to understand the big picture. Trump is a President of the complex work. Many voters fail to see that.
