Trump Reportedly Spoke on the Phone With Venezuela’s Maduro, Discussed a Possible Meeting in the US

Will Trump negotiate with Maduro and refrain from military action?

While the US has deployed the largest military force to America Latina since the 1990’s, the naval siege of Venezuela will not necessarily devolve into a bloody confrontation.

After President Donald J. Trump stated that negotiations with dictator Nicolas Maduro was a real possibility, a report arises that Trump has already spoken with Maduro last week.

The two leaders reportedly discussed a possible meeting between them in the United States, according to the New York Times.

Reuters reported:

“The newspaper added that there were no plans at the moment for such a meeting, which – if it occurred – would be the first-ever encounter between the authoritarian Venezuelan leader and a U.S. president.

The revelation of the phone call comes as Trump continues to use bellicose rhetoric toward Venezuela, while also entertaining the possibility of diplomacy. Trump had previously indicated he would be open to speaking with Maduro, though the Times report indicates that such a conversation has already happened.”

The Trump administration calls Maduro an illegitimate leader leading the Cartel de los Soles.

“Since early September, the U.S. government has been bombing alleged drug boats originating in Venezuela and other Latin American nations, a practice that Democrats, scholars and human rights experts have described as extrajudicial executions.”

On Thursday, Trump repeated his previous threats to begin bombing land-based targets.

“The land is easier, but that’s going to start very soon,” Trump told reporters.”

Don’t elevate Maduro by inviting him to the U.S. Force his ass out with amnesty somewhere, and then hold free elections, which that Nobel Prize chick will probably win.

Agree. Treating him like a foreign dignitary is nauseating.

Is it not our position that Maduro is an illegitimate President because he stole the election? The steal was the most obvious and brazen one of them all. So why the hell would Trump elevate him by meeting with him? I hope this story is BS.

Maduro is clearly the smartest leader of any substantial country in the world. Look at how long he has lasted despite the obstacles he has faced.

Why would he come to the US and be arrested, regardless of promises given, even in writing?

If the President wants to meet with him, ask for permission for a state visit in Caracas.

Or maybe better, interdict the drugs claimed to be entering from there with law enforcement rather than military.

America Latina

The author is an idiot. He just classified all males in Latin America as female. He tried to mix Spanish and English in a phrase that makes no sense as it looked good in his mind. He was wrong.

In addition the article said, “Since early September, the U.S. government has been bombing alleged drug boats originating in Venezuela and other Latin American nations, a practice that Democrats, scholars and human rights experts have described as extrajudicial executions.” Those packages floating on the surface were not Pampers and toilet paper. They were drugs destined for the USA and other nations. Taking those drug running boats out was simply an act of defense. I wish that the Navy would pick such up and stack them on a dock in Miami for all to see.

I forgot to add that I lived in Venezuela pre Chaves and it was great. It had the highest standard of living in South America with a large and expanding middle class. It was capitalistic and flourished. It was also corrupt but oddly less corrupt than the USA today. Chaves and Maduro destroyed it all.

There is a bridge in Tarija Columbia between Venezuela and Columbia. I crossed it frequently to catch a flight to Bogota. It was just an ordinary bridge of little importance. Today it is a bridge of sorrow. It is crowded with Venezuelans fleeing Venezuela. It is not pretty.

“His plane’s just landed near the border with Brazil.” This is odd. Why not in Brazil?

To formally request asylum and, once granted, to enter Brazil as an invited guest/asylee. Just a guess.

Maduro and Venez need Trump to survive and Trump has Maduro by the cajones. Just like what Mamdani was told by Trump, Mami cannot exist without Trumps support.
