I was thinking this was a loot flight, assuming there are people he could trust to not steal it all before he gets back there. OR!
This was a test flight. “The US says the airspace is closed. If I have this plane that I normally ride on fly to the border with Brazil, with it be engaged by fighters?”
Since this one wasn’t shot down, he now knows that he can take that flight for real.
In effect it says Maduros aircraft left from Caracas to a border landing close to Brazil. It says nothing about who is in charge and it could well be Maduro as we do not know if he was on that aircraft. That is all we really now and anything else is speculation. I hope it is true. But what I find odd is he did not just fly to Brazil if all the above is accurate.
