When it comes to talking to Gen Z men the right is beginning to sound a bit like the left: You can’t get ahead. The whole world is stacked against you. You’re the real victim here.
Podcaster Ben Shapiro recently said as much at a recent event, when he called out conservatives for inculcating young men with a “nihilistic” worldview rather than giving them the “tough talk” they need.
“I think that the right is actually weirdly feminizing young men by giving them a victimology to buy into,” Shapiro said at the Jewish Leadership Conference. “This notion that you, as a Gen Z male, are facing these obstacles that no other human has faced for all of human history, like, read a book for once! Like seriously, go talk to your grandfather.”
Young conservative men are being told that it’s impossible to get a house, a girlfriend, a job, even get off their phones. Yes, these might be real challenges, but politicians insisting life is nothing but an uphill battle is toxic.
This is the sort of victim complex conservatives recently accused the left of promoting. What happened to the “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” party?
Speaking in New York City on November 16, Shapiro acknowledged that young people have been failed by a “political class that lies to them.” But he also worried they’re being robbed of agency.

If you deny white males face institutional racism then you are really out of touch with the current state of affairs.
For fifty years the only people it was legal to discriminate against were straight, white males, and discrimination against them was required by law.
And DEI was meant to be stealth discrimination, so it is still going on.
Yeah, so much so and in our faces disguised as “affirmative action, diversity and DEI”
We’ve ALL experienced it. Multiple times.
The more I hear from Shapiro, the more I think he is controlled opposition.

Many allegedly conservative people work overtime to lecture inner city folks on how they can rise above.
Accordingly, I find the White Victim mindset being promoted by the Grpypers and championed by many on this board, to be the idiot child of left apologists for criminals.
Grow up, life isn’t fair, get a helmet, pray daily, and work hard.
What Mr Shapiro doesn’t like is the rise of right-wing nationalists, and the inability of conservative intellectuals like himself to control those forces.
Too unpredictable for his taste.

You don't fix that by throwing a judicial switch and pretending they are no longer being discriminated against, all DEI evidence to the contrary.
The “right” isn’t doing this, as you rightfully point out.
We’re at a serious inflection point.
Either constitutional conservatives are right wing or we aren’t, and the new victims are the right wing or they aren’t, but it can’t be both. But the more we learn the more we find out that we don’t have much in common beside a small handful of disparate modernist political positions - which aren’t enough to build a concrete “unity” on.
Look at how impossible it is for the GOP Establishment and conservatives to unite. We just don’t have enough in common to sustain unity.

There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging how difficult it is nowadays with expenses going through the roof.
But, the solution is the same that made America great in the first place: work hard and overcome adversity. Delay gratification until you actually arrive.
Nothing is given to anyone, unless you’re a government (taxpayer) leach. The situation we find ourselves is not as bad as the Great Depression, and millionaires and generational wealth was made during this time by those who persevered.
No matter how real any such is, there is no justification and no honor in claiming victim status.
Are gibsmedats the next step? You want free taxpayer bailouts and generational welfare?
That said, I see your point…. for such a heavily-discriminated group over a half of a century, the whites sure have it bad. I mean, look at all the diversity in Amazon’s Board:

The discrimination against white (non-Jewish) males has existed a long time. However, it has been growing at a rapid pace. Family court favors women. Criminal court favors minorities and women. Ditto employment. A greater percentage of boys are not being raised by their fathers which impacts them personally and also their group of contemporaries they grow up with which has adverse effects growing up. There are fewer and fewer men/boy only spaces that haven’t been invaded by homosexuals. Many fathers have called their daughters princess. If your daughter is a princess, doesn’t that make your son a prince? I wouldn’t call a son a prince, but I wouldn’t call a daughter a princess either.
People like Bed Shapiro say men should buck it up. He is not a US, white, Christian or agnostic man. He is an Israeli first, Jewish man so shut up. You had advantages and connections that low and middle class white boys could only dream of.

Yeah women and minorities have the monopoly on being victims.
