Trump grew the conservative coalition in 2024. Carlson and Fuentes would shrink it.
Tucker Carlson’s effort to bring neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes into the mainstream of the conservative movement is not only morally reprehensible, it is a path to political suicide for the right. Those defending or excusing Carlson’s sane-washing of Fuentes need to ask themselves a simple question: Do they want to be a majoritarian movement or not?
So, what changed between 2016 and 2024? Simple: Trump’s political comeback was powered by significant gains among minority voters.

Much wishful thinking here.
Washington Post writers think of themselves as magicians, who can fabricate new realities with no connection to how things actually are
Thiessen is right. Don’t get hung up on the name. The issue is there is a nasty outbreak of racist anti Jewish behavior on the so-called “woke right”. The more we watch the more it appears they have lot more in common with the woke leftist maniacs and bomb-throwers.
All White Men are White Nationalist to the WaPo.
Fixed.
Because anybody who disagrees with you is Hitler.
Commuists Democrats built a winning coalition. Black racists will destroy it.
It’s a good thing they aren’t white Christian Nationalists!
Thiessen is a former speechwriter for George W. Bush.
People like Nick Fuentes and, increasingly, Tucker Carlson will destroy themselves before they destroy the MAGA coalition. They’re not powerful enough to do that. MAGA is built on much firmer foundations than these two losers.
The great replacement isn’t a white nationalist conspiracy theory
The term “woke right” is more aptly applied to those on the Right who want to suppress free speech. That is the most Leftist thing of all.
Trump is doomed, # 944,701
And, FWIW, I’ve never liked Tucker Carlson and never trusted him. He is merely being exposed for what he’s always been - an insincere opportunist. His most recent behavior only makes that clearer.
I don’t know this thiesden. But on this he is generally correct.
The MAGA coalition agrees on 2A, Israel and little else. Not all are pro-life, or Club-for-Growth or Capitalist, or small government or America First. But we agree with each other enough to be in a coalitition.
Fuentes, Tucker, Candace on the fringe of the coalition are not wanted by the rest of us in the coalition. Their deviation is repugnant. Our disagreement on
Capitalism is serious, but not repugnant.
For the vast majority of those who support Trump and his MAGA movement, it’s about prosperity, jobs, low crime, stopping illegal entry into the U.S., a strong military and a generally safe international situation. The specifics, they don’t care about. They’re not policy experts and by and large are not interested in the details about how it gets done. But they trust Trump’s judgement and trust in his ability to deliver.
White nationalists aren't and never have been part of the Trump coalition.
You're trying to smear American First patriots as racists and very few are.
Going back to Bush Republicanism will result in Democrats sweeping back into power with Gavin Newsom or worse as President.
Another article attacking Fuentes and Carlson.
I think we are getting near fifty to zero at this point.
The scribbling class is unanimous.
Lol.
