In its diplomacy about the war, Kyiv has striven to maintain an axiom that great powers should not discuss the country’s fate over its head. “Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,” had been the approach.
Now, as the Trump administration has negotiated a 28-point settlement plan in just this way — with input from Russia but not from Ukraine or from its allies in Europe — Ukrainian and European officials and commentators are responding with dismay.
“For any plan to work, it needs Ukrainians and Europeans on board,” Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s top diplomat, said on Thursday ahead of a meeting of the bloc’s foreign affairs council

There is a precedent for that in the way Britain, Italy, and France disposed of Czechoslovakia.
Oh no....”Z” is dismayed...
Good one. Ukraine’s eventual “deal” gets worse every day. November is going to be a record monthly loss of territory, around 1,000 square kilometers. Ukraine’s line is falling apart, there aren’t enough soldiers to cover it all. Russia is past most of the fortified lines now, lots of open fields ahead.
Drones and tanks don’t hold territory, only soldiers can do that and Ukraine is running out of soldiers.
Ukraine, and Brussels/the Rump UK empire/Davos’ support of it are not going to last. It’s like watching a dam break.
I sincerely hope Trump has already made agreements and plans with Russia for getting along in a post-Ukraine world.
This article says the NYT believes the Axios report is real.
“For any plan to work, it needs Ukrainians and Europeans on board”
They will get in line and do as they’re told.
The US is their master.
“A little Vaseline will help with that problem.”
Is that how you get a Hellfire missile up Putin’s posterior?
Trump’s multipoint plan was news to the very Russians who conduct diplomacy.
Simply because Trump asks Russia to give up what they already hold is non-starter; at this point Russia can now take whatever they want. There is absolutely nothing Conventionally speaking that the US or NATO can do to save Ukraine. Even NATO on a war footing could not turn the tide of war in favor of Ukraine.
Russia has spent over 3 years to defeat the fortifications NATO spent 10 years to build. Three to five layers of 3-layer defensive lines - this was a hard push to break. Not until January 2024 with the advent of the FAB 500-3000s did Russia make headway against these massive lines of converging fire lanes and fortifications, sometimes 15 lines deep.
There is nothing to stop Russia from now flanking the entirety of the defensive line left in Zaporosia and the underbelly of Ukraine. That said, Russia will Flank those fotifications and evict all AFU forces from east of the Dniper.
Trump’s plan might have been ideal in Alaska, but he withdrew the agreement Russia accepted in Alaska.
Trump is asking for too much too late. By the new year, the majority of remaining Ukrainian forces will be west of the Dniper River in a very weak arc to shield Kiev.
Russia is going to activate the 200,000 men held in reserve that have cycled thru combat tours and ready to break thru the Dniper.
Russia is going to take Odessa - the British will lose everything in Ukraine.
At a minimum the AFU must surrender and submit to Russia inspection and offensive capabilities dismatled and handed over to Russia.
At a minimum the current Coup Government installed by the US in Kiev must be replaced under Russian supervision.
Any land that is contained in the new map of Ukraine must not have any NATO or EU representation; no NGOs.
These are the terms from Russia’s July 2024 announcement, and these terms/demands have not changed since August 2022.
The money laundering of the Biden Admin/Family is over. Trump even got in on it for a while but it is unsustainable.
Trump understands that taking out Syria, attempting to do the same to Iran and Venezuela, will not enhance US prestiege nor help Ukraine.
Trump has pushed his tariffs and sanctions to 500%. There is no turning back. The US under Trump has made the Ukraine War everyone’s problem. Rather than it remaining the world’s problem, Brics is seeing a renewed interest in soverign nations wishing to opt out of USD based trade.
The US world is now a smaller place. But it is still good to be king of any realm, no matter the size.
For the remainder of Trump’s presidency we will increasingly hear talk of regionally tied Zones of influence for the USA, Russia, China... and a lesser extend India and Brazil.
The EU is now a vassal of the United States. Japan and S.Korea are vassaliating but still a part of the US sphere of influence by Economy.
The profits the US financial system has gleaned from skimming the percentages off the top of US Trade Dollars is about to be halved and dry up.
The US is going to have to get it’s financial house in order; the recession is upon US all. Once the US emerges fromn this self-inflected financial disaster we call our economy, we will re-emerge as War, Inc. again on steroids.
Trump would be wise to wind dow n the wars against countries that do not want our presence nor problems.
Since Bill Clinton weaponized NATO the Chi-town and now New York-wing of the DNC mafia power brokers have waged wars across the globe. Were Trump true to himself he would dismatle NATO and end the never-ending wars.
Trump should take the WIN he demanded in his first term, e.g., the EU off Russia energy. That has been achieved but at what cost to Europe and the US....
Take the WIN Trump. You can sell US energy unopposed to the EU as a hostage energy constituent at prices higher than the markert without US imposed contracts could possibly yield. Trump has insulated the US economy with the complete capture of the EU as a hostage vassal rather than an economic competitor.
Of the many reaons for the war in Ukraine, we have achieved the most important which is to ensure within our economic sphere of influcence, e.g., the EU that our energy exports can be profitable.
No, that is how you introduce EU politicos to the sex trafficking services they receive from Ukraine. Along with the $$ laundering.
EU Countries should send their solders to help YouCraynee fight Ruzzia.
They just need to send plenty of body bags too.
Because there will be lots of dead solders from EU Countries.
