Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans is a base of the United States military located in Belle Chasse, unincorporated Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, United States. NAS JRB New Orleans is home to a Navy Reserve strike fighter squadron and a fleet logistics support squadron, the 159th Fighter Wing (159 FW) of the Louisiana Air National Guard, Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, a detachment of a Marine Corps Reserve light helicopter attack squadron, as well as other US Navy & US Army activities.

As home to commands representing multiple government agencies, NAS JRB New Orleans supports a unique population who live, work or serve onboard the installation. On a daily basis, NAS JRB New Orleans is a constant center of activity for air operations, ground operations and a variety of family support services.

From major military construction projects to the replacement of the smallest segment of sidewalk, NAS JRB New Orleans consistently and aggressively implements improvements to operations support, quality of life and the safety of personnel.

LAnasjrbneworleans5

NAS JRB New Orleans regularly interacts with government and community organizations to improve public relations and ensure the Navy is recognized as a good steward of public funds and an involved member of the local community.

With the oldest and largest state charter school on board a DOD installation and an “A” school recipient, Belle Chasse Academy, NAS JRB New Orleans provides superior educational services to more than 900 K-8 students. Along with the more than 900 family units onboard the installation, NAS JRB New Orleans is easily recognizable as a superb family environment.

The base has a 24/7 operating schedule to support both the 159 FW's NORAD air sovereignty/homeland defense requirements and for Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans search and rescue/maritime law enforcement/port security missions. It contains a military airport known as Alvin Callender Field which is located three nautical miles south of the central business district of New Orleans.

Hiya radu, sorry I missed you last night.

I did nothing and went nowhere yesterday, just lazed around.

I hope your body has recovered from yesterday. 😁

Howdy, PRO.

A do-nothing day for you, too, huh?

Doing nothing did help me recuperate from overdoing it Saturday. Good thing because I had stuff to do today.

Howdy, luvie.

Glad your cool-down has started. I know you are! LOL
Today was pretty much the same as yesterday but not as windy. Warming up tomorrow for a few days with MAYBE some rain chances this week. Chances are better in the north part of the state.

Hey there, radu!

I sure am. It was only about 3 degrees today, but it’ll gradually feel like it should. I hope we get the rain we’re promised on Thursday. It is soooo dry here.

I hope you get the rain you’re promised, too. Y’all probably need it more than we do, because all your plant life are used to it. What did you do today? Anything less strenuous than what you did on...was it Saturday? Can’t remember. LOL!

Hi there, Janey! I hope you had a great weekend in spite of being rather grounded. I read that the airports open soon...maybe tomorrow? Are you lined up for a flight yet?
