Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) said he thought “a hundred or more” House Republicans could vote to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Host Jonathan Karl said, “President Trump fought long and hard to prevent your discharge petition from going through. You won that battle. Now what happens? How many Republicans in the House follow your lead and defy the president on this?”
Massie said, “I think we could have a deluge of Republicans, a hundred or more. I hope to get a veto-proof majority on this legislation when it comes up for a vote. The president’s been saying this is a hoax. He has been saying that for months. He now decided to investigate a hoax. If it’s a hoax, I have another concern about these investigations that he has announced. If they have ongoing investigations in certain areas, those documents can’t be released. So this might be a big smokescreen, these investigations...a last-ditch effort to prevent the release of the Epstein files.”
Karl said, “It is extraordinary to hear him demand an investigation and only mention Democrats, only mention his political opponents. But you’re saying he doesn’t really want any investigation. He wants to prevent the release. Why does he want to prevent this? What is he afraid of?”
Massie said, “You know, I have never said that these files will implicate Donald Trump. I really don’t think that they will. I think he is trying to protect a bunch of rich and powerful friends, billionaires, donors to his campaign, friends in his social circles. That’s my operating theory on why he is trying so hard to keep these files closed.”

The usual game:
“If they have ongoing investigations in certain areas, those documents can’t be released. So this might be a big smokescreen, these investigations...a last-ditch effort to prevent the release of the Epstein files.”
Fine with me.
“Massie said, “You know, I have never said that these files will implicate Donald Trump. I really don’t think that they will. I think he is trying to protect a bunch of rich and powerful friends, billionaires, donors to his campaign, friends in his social circles. “
And Mossad, CIA and MI6
“They” (those who actually are in possession of the incriminating evidence) will protect it at all costs because that is their assurance that things will still go “Their” way…
What has he done with the info that’s already been released?
Question
Will Congressional release of these files null and void any NDA the victims have signed and thus allowing any civil litigation to go forward?
Nothing will come of it-did the JFK files? It’s one big drum roll and we’re being played. A bone will be thrown at each side to run with. Think ‘victim’ replacing Guffie when she had nothing against Trump. What would be nice is if a whole bunch of Democrats get exposed right round next November if they can just hold off.
It should be 100 percent of Republicans.
There are some many things the Republicans in Congress should be doing, that I would give higher priority.
Where is Massie on of that? Where are the Freeper threads on all of that?
What a joke.
Everyone can agree the Russia, Russia, Russia was a contrived hoax. And in the end...there was nothing there.
Now, look at the Epstein files in the same context...And the emails they are putting out...and the birthday picture...they are all contrived. And in the end, just as in RRR, there is nothing there.
Anyine who thinks Trump did that Birthday card is dumb as a rock.
I wonder if people pushing for the release ever think that the files may be highly doctored by now and/or contain completely invented incriminating ‘information’.
It’s not like we don’t know the kinds of things Democrat politicians are willing to do...
If the DOJ is in possession of grand jury material, how could they release them within the law.
They could be doctored—and then the chain of custody becomes critically important.
We may find new crimes holding old crimes.
Congress will have to put on their big boy pants to deal with any and all issues.
In theory Congress can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Lol.
Is it just me, or do most people believe whatever they give us will be hand selected and not all the info.
The point wasn’t that other things should be done instead of this.
I don’t understand why folks attach such importance to these “files “.
