The hemp industry is gearing up for a lobbying effort following a provision in the recent government funding package meant to stop the sale of intoxicating hemp products but could inadvertently destroy a legitimate $28 billion industry and kill 300,000 American jobs.
The new ban tucked into the spending bill prohibits products containing more than 0.4 milligrams of THC per container and is aimed at stopping the sale of intoxicating products often sold in gas stations and convenience stores.
While the spending bill was still in the Senate, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) unsuccessfully offered an amendment to remove the language, but the Senate voted overwhelmingly to table it. Paul warned on the Senate floor that the measure would “eradicate the hemp industry” and “couldn’t come at a worse time for America’s farmers.”

And, as to ruining the hemp industry, you don't need high levels of THC in your clothes, and they can process hemp to remove the THC and keep the cbd....
It's just that it is additional steps that cost $ and eats into their profits, that they don't want to admit to.
As for rand paul, he's had a history of promoting marijuanna, and the hemp industry, so more people can more easily get and stay high and stoned, so they don't care much about anything, much to the benefit of the left.
Interesting old documentary

Allowing the possession but not sale basically turns it into a criminal enterprise.
It will just go underground again
Hemp is the answer.
Cannabinoids are an illegal substance. We have the World Cup and Olympics in this Administration. Have to ban illegal substances because of world sporting bodies.
If PI laws were strictly enforced, hemp wouldn’t be a problem. Full blown MJ for that matter. Oh yeah, do the same with alcohol.
Also, proper research on the delta variants needs to be done. Too many folks freaking out when using it.
Since the states that legalized it are already ignoring the fact that pot is illegal at the Federal level, I imagine they will ignore this law as well.
I’m just wondering how clamping down on “legal weed” and gummies would affect the next election cycle. People like their intoxicants.
Its a clean CR bill I tell ya. Don’t you believe me?
Hemp has always been grown in the United States until 1937 because it was erroneously linked to marijuana.
It can be made into most anything — biofuels, clothes, paper, hempcrete, etc. Hempcrete is catching on fast in Europe.
This will almost certainly be the case in Kentucky, and no one at the federal level will care, any more than they cared when meth destroyed the southeastern portion of the state.
