Washington — Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has been hospitalized after a fall near his home, which caused minor injuries to his face, his spokesman said in a statement posted on social media.
Fetterman fell to the ground after feeling light-headed, which was due to a ventricular fibrillation flare-up, the statement said. Ventricular fibrillation is a type of irregular heartbeat. Fetterman is remaining at the hospital for observation so doctors can "fine-tune" his medications.
"During an early morning walk, Senator Fetterman sustained a fall near his home in Braddock," his spokesperson said. The statement continued:
"Out of an abundance of caution, he was transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh. Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries. Senator Fetterman had this to say: 'If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!' He is doing well and receiving routine observation at the hospital. He has opted to stay so doctors can fine-tune his medication regimen. Senator Fetterman is grateful for the EMTs, doctors, and nurses who are providing his care."

I was in the hospital with a COVID infection for five days in 2023, and I didn’t make a full recovery until my doctor “fine-tuned” my medications, two months later. Since then the appropriate words for a senior citizen like me have been, “If you’re happy and you know it, thank your meds!”

I disagree with Lurch Fetterman on most things, but he seems to be an old Democrat who will debate with you, who basically believes in the broad parameters of American ideas like old Democrats used to, even when they were wrong on policy.
I wish Sen. Fetterman a speedy and full recovery.
If he turns up with a black eye like the rest of the “black eye club”....this will be wild.
I hope it isn’t too serious and I wish him a speedy recovery. Fetterman seems to be a sincere person and that’s a rare trait nowadays. We don’t have to agree for me to appreciate some of his qualities.

fetterman has atrial fibrillation, which he didn’t treat and which caused his stroke ... no doubt the ignorant fools that wrote the article don’t know the difference between atrial fibrillation and ventricular fibrillation ...
btw, instead of relying on medication to maintain normal sinus rhythm [which quits working sooner or late], fetterman should go have cryoablation performed to permanently fix his afib ...
He retains his sense of (self-deprecating) humor. That's a good sign. Most Democrats have lost their sense of humor (if they ever had one) and none of them are able to laugh at themselves.
