Fetterman defends his voting record despite pushback from Democrats: "Maybe our party has a bigger problem"

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman defended his voting record and addressed the criticism he's received from some in his own party for meeting and sometimes voting with President Trump.

"I vote a 91% Democratic line, and if Democrats have a problem with somebody that votes 91% of the same times as you are, more than nine out of 10 times, then maybe our party has a bigger problem," he said in an interview that aired Wednesday on "CBS Mornings."

Fetterman voted with Republicans over a dozen times to fund the government and end the government shutdown while most Senate Democrats held out. The effort failed 14 times over the past 42 days.

During that time, Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, and independent Sen. Angus King of Maine, who caucuses with Democrats, also backed the House-passed funding bill.

Remember all the praise the Dems and MSM heaped on McCain for being a bipartisan “maverick”? Until he ran for President and the knives came out. And even after all that, he still voted to keep Obamacare alives.

Just goes to show it was all so much BS.

"I vote a 91% Democratic line,

If that includes the 12 or more times he voted to open the government, then the 91 becomes 93 or 94% ? New definition of moderate....

I have to admit that I do like his stance on some issues. He has a love for the country and wants her to be able to prosper. There are many issues I disagree with.

does anyone remember when he showed his respect to both parties by wearing comfortable clothes?

Even if I was elected as an independent I don’t think I would have the balls to even try that.

People said he was disrespecting tradition, but now that I look back I am not so sure that is what he was really doing.

I’m not sure yet if he’s angling for a higher position. However, he is doing all the right things to bridge the non-crazy democrat voters and scrape up the fence line republicans.

They do have a bigger problem. Nasty Polizei’s eyebrows. They make Luigi’s forehead look like it’s been shaved by his bedmates.

Clothes make the man.

If there were any truth to that statement, our congress would be full of great men and women in designer suits and dresses instead of political hacks in designer suits and pantsuits.

Not a lot there in the Senate to respect. At least Fetterman is not toe tapping in airport potties like
Larry Craig. And for Pennsylvania, Fetterman is a couple grades above Scottish Law Specter

“he is doing all the right things to bridge the non-crazy democrat voters and scrape up the fence line republicans.”

He’s probably going to be the Democrats’ 2028 candidate for President.

Fetterman is the best they have—an FDR sort of Democrat. They could do a whole lot worse to run for president. When the Marxists fail he will be there to pick up the pieces.
