Every time anyone is elected I read about about people leaving the state/country. I wonder how many people will really leave.

1,000,000 people want to leave.

One way or the other, the market will solve the problem.

If New Yorkers flock to Florida, New York real estate prices will crash, and those doing the flocking will not be able to sell.

“Millionaires”

Does everyone realize what you can do with a million bucks?

Spend 4% of it annually forever.

That’s $40,000.

How would it feel to be living on $40K in modern America? It would frankly just suck. Welfare recipients get more most places.

By the time you hit $10,000,000, then you’re talking about real money. $400,000 annual spend is a really nice number.

The gubmint has printed so many dollars, they are literally worth less. The press trying to foment class rivalry over a *mere* million bucks is becoming laughable.

In the History Channel series on modern mobsters they showed a slow moving film shot from a moving car or van, of a long couple of blocks in NYC where there used to be thriving high class shops and restaurants, which were 90% vacant with real estate signs. This was to approximately one million residents leaving and taking their tax money with them, in the years just before Rudy Giuliani battled crime and then became Mayor with “stop, question and frisk.”

I still question how most people can afford to leave loft or apartment the own, a house, or a rented expensive apartment which has months to go on a lease.
Plus, your high paid job is in NYC and your new home will be a long way away? Or you give up your great job and move to another state such as Florida?

I think God will turn this into good the next election.

When the rich flee, taxes fall as do services. Those freeloaders who want to demonize the rich- people that actually have payrolls!!!- find they are jobless and they are so ignorant they cannot start a business to survive. So, although there might be some huge crumbling and third world areas of NYC, as soon as a true American becomes mayor there will be a turnaround.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste, but they have and are so lazy in body and have dead spirits.

REVIVAL HAPPENS!!!

No, they can't. The Puerto Ricans already beat them to it.

-100,000 ended up leaving-

Mamdani is planning to pay for his plan by increasing the taxes on the top one percent in NYC. That’s roughly 88,000 of New York City’s wealthiest residents.

If these residents are a big part of the 100,000 that leave, NYC will have a problem.

It is the people with money that can afford to relocate. Most of the rest 99% will not be able to leave and will be stuck with the problems they voted for.

“When the rich flee, taxes fall as do services. Those freeloaders who want to demonize the rich- people that actually have payrolls!!!”

NY State will be under huge pressure to finance Mamdami’s schemes. He just wiped out the old guard (their buddies) in NY City and it has a huge voting base.

In congress, the D’s will be desperate to attach earmarks to NY City to legislation the R’s want.

If R’s can control themselves and not give a bunch of money to them and if Trump reduces federal spending in NY City, it will bankrupt either NY City or NY State or both.

To paraphrase an old headline: Trump to NY City: “Drop Dead.”
