New Poll Shows Cuomo Would Win in a Two-Way Race Against Mamdani

In a new bombshell poll, former Governor Andrew Cuomo would win in a head-to-head race with Mamdani.

According to a new Atlas Intel survey released Monday afternoon, Zohran Mamdani still leads the race with 43.9 percent support, while Cuomo trails with 39.4 percent and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa with 15.5 percent. Roughly one percent of those surveyed remain undecided.

In a hypothetical race where Sliwa drops out, Cuomo would lead Mamdani 49.7 percent to 44.1 percent.

The poll surveyed 2,400 potential voters over a two-day period last week, on Friday and Sunday, with a margin of error of around two percentage points.

📊FINAL ATLAS POLL

2025 NYC Mayoral Election

Mamdani (D) leads with 43.9% of the vote (+3.3 since Oct. 30), while Cuomo (I) trails close behind at 39.4% (+5.4 since Oct. 30). With Sliwa (R) dropping 8.6pp, the gap between Mamdani and Cuomo decreased to 4.5pp.

However, the poll overestimates the Republican and Independent vote, while underestimating Democratic voters. In early voting, Democrats account for 73 percent, Republicans 11 percent, and independents 15 percent. The survey has Democrats at only 59 percent, Republicans at 19 percent, and independents at almost 22 percent.

The top three issues for New Yorkers remain inflation/cost of living, housing affordability, and crime in that order. While Mamdani and Cuomo have made their focus affordability, Sliwa maintains that the most important issue is crime. While that issue has historically been a winning one, people can imagine a world in which affordability quickly outpaces that in major U.S. cities. Republicans will soon need to make economic policy the centerpiece of their campaign and expand their message beyond simply cutting taxes.

Since Oct. 30, the gap between Mamdani and Cuomo in a hypothetical election scenario where Eric Adams is still in the race decreased by 2.8pp. Meanwhile, voting intention for Sliwa decreased by 8.1pp.

Cost of living, housing affordability and crime are the top three issues on voters’ minds in the NYC mayoral election.

Curtis Sliwa remains the spoiler as Election Day looms on Tuesday.

He would also win if he were unopposed.

A two-way race between Hitler and Stalin. What a choice.

I’d say it more like Stalin vs. Mussolini or Franco. There is a dis tinguishable difference that makes one clearly preferable

“..the poll overestimates the Republican and Independent vote, while underestimating Democratic voters. In early voting, Democrats account for 73 percent, Republicans 11 percent, and independents 15 percent. The survey has Democrats at only 59 percent, Republicans at 19 percent...”

If your poll under-samples democrats by 14 percent and over-samples Republicans by 8 percent, your poll is fiction.

Sliwa has always been a showboat. That's who he is.

Except Sliwa the schmuck insists on making a (bad) name for himself. Him and that asinine beret, and cartoon-clown NY accent. I have a NY accent myself, but he, seriously, sounds like a moron.

Just as well, NYC needs to fall on its ass, hard, with nobody to come to save it this time. A Rudy type will never be elected there again there as long as we live.

It’s now one-party rule. Let them choke on it.

Anyone ever hear of the now all most universal early voting racket. This race is already pretty much decided what ever way it is going to be.

Oddly Mandami is a blessing in disguise. He will destroy the financial center of the USA and it this digital age it will flee easily to Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee etc. All pro business and low tax states. They will not go to California for sure. New York City will slowly financially die. It will be ugly. They are already fleeing now even before Mandami.

We have three years until the next presidential election. Marxism in New York city will become a disaster and the democrat party will be blamed as they should be blamed.

If I were a political cynic I would root for Mandami. I am not that perverse and will not.

I am not exactly rooting for him, I’d prefer if Sliwa wins, but between him and Cuomo I do think it’s better that he wins than if Cuomo wins. I detest the Cuomo family and I hope this is the final nail in their political coffin.

"There is a dis tinguishable difference that makes one clearly preferable"

There is nothing that makes one preferable over the other. Neither should have been allowed to run. Cuomo murdered thousands of senior citizens, besides being a corrupt politician. Cuomo also ordered that all healthcare staff in NY State had to get the jabs. Mamdani didn't become a State Legislator until 2021, so he didn't vote to give NY State driver's licenses to illegals, who likely killed innocent people on the road. But Andrew Cuomo did put them on the road. He signed that Bill his party overwhelmingly passed.

I haven't seen Cuomo shake hands with the unindicted mastermind of the WTC bombings...nor does he want to see more NYC women wearing a hijab.

that makes him slightly less destructive than Mandami.
