A federal judge in Rhode Island has temporarily ordered the Trump administration to continue funding benefits for SNAP, the federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
"The court is orally at this time, ordering that USDA must distribute the contingency money timely, or as soon as possible, for the November 1 payments to be made," said U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr.

The snap funds run out in about a week anyway.
This judges claims the power of the purse from Congress. If the ghettopotamuses don’t get their food stamps, they may desert the Rat party. The judge doesn’t want, hence his order.
The courts already ruled that was illegal the last time Trump tried to do that.
If hizzoner could see which finger I am holding up, he would have my opinion.
“There is no doubt, and it is beyond argument, that irreparable harm will begin to occur — if it hasn’t already occurred — in the terror it has caused some people about the availability of funding for food for their family,” he said.
Is there anything in his decision that is based on the law? Is Trump required by law or not?
The judge should order Schumer to pass the budget.
The President should order the judge to pass the budget himself.
Let’s just make a mockery of the entire “separate branches” concept.
And when that runs out what are we paying with? Wishes and dreams?
President Trump can now spend money the way he wants without Congress, good to know.
The judge also knows the $5 billion is not enough so only partial payment can be made anyway.
There is $5-6B contingency fund. This is to be used in emergency cases.
The USDA says that because there is no budget and no appropriated monies, the fund cannot be used to replace something that it has no authority to spend. In other words, because it hasn’t been appropriated, the funds cannot replace that which does not exist.
The Judge pretty much said, “use the money and feed them”
The USDA has until Monday to go back and tell the Judge what they are doing.
That said, I don’t know if the SNAP/EBT cards are going to work tomorrow or not. I am guessing they won’t.
Look for reporters to be standing outside grocery stores tomorrow talking to every person walking out without their groceries.
This should be interesting to watch.
