Pilot Unions, Associations Call for Passage of Clean CR to Reopen Government, End Schumer Shutdown

Several pilot unions and associations have issued statements calling for the passage of a clean continuing resolution (CR) in order to reopen the government and end the ongoing shutdown.

Unions such as the Coalition of Airline Pilots Associations (CAPA), the NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots, the Allied Pilots Association (APA), and the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA), have issued statements calling upon lawmakers to support a clean CR, which Democrats have continued to oppose, according to USA Today.

The statements from the unions come as roughly 13,000 air traffic controllers are currently working without being paid during the ongoing shutdown.

“We have seen the stress and tension this year on the National Airspace System due to short-staffed air traffic controllers,” CAPA said in a statement, according to the outlet. “This shutdown only compounds the pressures they face as they now report to work without a paycheck.

CAPA added that they were calling “on Congress to end the government shutdown by passing a clean Continuing Resolution.”

In a statement shared by the White House, Nick Silva, the President and First Officer of APA, stressed that “Congress should reconvene and work in a bipartisan manner to pass a clean Continuing Resolution to fund and reopen the government.”

“We stand with our brothers and sisters in air traffic control and TSA who continue to show up to work every day without a paycheck,” Silva added. “These men and women take their oath seriously to guarantee a safe National Airspace System so we the pilots can ensure the flying public reaches their destinations in a timely manner and without harm.”

Will the United States ever see a constitutional budget again?

It is growing increasing clear that the Schumercratz are eager to destroy Thanksgiving.

They made a valiant stab at it in ‘20 and ‘21 with fomenting $camdemic fear.

Their latest tactic is to cut off food stamps, stress food banks, and screw up air travel.

““Congress should reconvene and work in a bipartisan manner to pass a clean Continuing Resolution to fund and reopen the government.””

A clean CR has already been passed in the House. Just waiting on the six brave Democrats who will put country over party to get the clean CR passed.

Yesterday I received my military retirement and VA compensation, so I’m still not affected by the shutdown.

November 1 is the first crisis point. When those EBTs are empty the hippogettos are going to loot grocery stores. The store work at has already been training us on active shooters.

Republicans could have passed a clean CR without a shutdown by nuking the fillibuster, so they own the shutdown as much as the Democrats.

Once the filibuster is nuked, all bets are off.

That may be a secondary goal of the Democrats, getting the Republicans to do it instead of tehmselves.

When the Dems eventually get back in power, with no way for the Republicans to impede them by using filibuster techniques, they would be like children in a candy store and fist full of dollar bills................

It’s time for the House to start voting on appropriation bills for the FY 2026 budget. Being budgetary, they may be combined into a reconciliation bill and are not subject to the filibuster.

This CR fiasco was only to get to normal appropriations by Nov 21, 2025. We are over halfway there already. Just speed up the appropriation process.
