DALLAS — Oak Lawn United Methodist Church in Dallas says it's painting the steps of the church in rainbow colors following Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's order targeting rainbow crosswalks.
The church, located at the corner of Oak Lawn Avenue and Cedar Springs Road, says the action is "not one of defiance, but of faith."
The painting of the church steps comes after Abbott issued an order earlier this month to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) that instructs state and local agencies to remove any “decorative crosswalks or markings conveying artwork or other messages” that are not part of standard traffic control.

For those who don’t know, Oaklawn is the epicenter of actist sodomy in Dallas. It’s poetic justice that these crosswalks are being unpainted there.
Another reason why I haven’t been a Methodist for the last 37 years.
What a load of BS. It's defiance, plain and simple.
And it's private property. They can do as they choose.
UMC is completely lost.
I’m so glad I left the Methodist Church.
It is defiance against God, and they will be held to account. Or they will repent. But they cannot serve two masters.
Global Methodists broke from United Methodists over the past few years, from what I’ve read.
I guess that blatant display would make it darn easy for decent people to rule out visiting that church.
We’ve been snookered by a few churches, but we actually had to go inside and listen to a service to find out.
Christian In Name Only
So too the ELCA. The steps will warn people to steer clear.
The Methodist Church in our town split over this nonsense about a year ago. They aren’t allowed to call themselves Methodist, so now it’s “The Shore”.
Our neighbor just revised his Will to 86 that church. They’ll lose a huge chunk of money.
When he was very ill in the hospital, the female pastor came to visit. NOT a pastoral comforting visit, but to ask the husband for the key to their house so she could go in and get a copy of his Will. (The church had been told they were beneficiaries a few years ago.)
His caretaker kicked the pastor out of the room, followed her to the parking lot, and gave her a tongue lashing.
The rainbow does belong to God as does His church. God can turn what is meant for evil into good.
That is great to know. The rebellion rainbow is a beacon for the rebellious to congregate in their apostate church. For those who worship the God of creation it is a sign that the leaders behind those doors do not know the LORD God or who are in open rebellion. They are blinded by their own lusts of the flesh.
The ones I’ve seen, that split from UMC, are still calling themselves Methodist.
I wonder why the one in your town cannot.
Too funny, about the caretaker ... good for him/her!!!
Would people be arrested for overlay painting “Genesis 9:13-17” onto the steps?
The fags are the reason the UMC is a shadow of its former self. Most Methodist congregation split off and formed the GMC which does not celebrate unnatural sexual perversion.
Those brightly-colored steps can function as nature's warning signal to normal people that the place is toxic.
Jesus cousin was John The Baptist, not John the Methodist..............
It can be argued the church painted the steps to appear relevant
Then there is the offering plate. A Dyke $$$ buys as much as an untainted $$$
