This side dish should be familiar to the many FReepers who are politically active and attend lots of conferences and conventions. It goes with rubber chicken.

After eating at this restaurant on La Cienega Blvd. in West LA,, it's a safe bet that the Robins didn't leave a tip. But when I ate at their newer location in North Hollywood, I always had good service and good food.
By the way, they mention Jim's, Jack's, John's and Gene's. Mr. Jim's (on Vermont Ave. in LA), Jack's (in Whittier), John's Chili Bowl in Burbank and Gene's in Buena Park were all great eateries at the time. Jack's and John's Chili Bowl are the only ones surviving in 2025.

This guy may be an illegal alien, but he knows how to make tacos. This was a local hit in LA.
