Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Friday that the U.S. military overnight struck a Tren de Aragua drug smuggling boat in the Caribbean, killing six "narco-terrorists."
"At the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Tren de Aragua (TdA), a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO), trafficking narcotics in the Caribbean Sea," Hegseth posted on X. "The vessel was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics."
This is the 10th strike on a suspected drug-smuggling vessel by the military, bringing the death toll of the campaign against drug cartels to at least 46 people, according to the Associated Press.
"Six male narco-terrorists were aboard the vessel during the strike, which was conducted in international waters—and was the first strike at night. All six terrorists were killed and no U.S. forces were harmed in this strike. If you are a narco-terrorist smuggling drugs in our hemisphere, we will treat you like we treat Al-Qaeda. Day or NIGHT, we will map your networks, track your people, hunt you down, and kill you."
The strikes have been occurring more frequently as of late, with three in one week now, after initially one strike every few weeks last month. Two of this week's strikes were in the eastern Pacific, going beyond the Caribbean strikes.

On August 19, 1951, St. Louis Browns owner Bill Veeck orchestrated a publicity stunt by sending 3-foot-7-inch midget Eddie Gaedel to bat in the second game of a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers.
Gaedel, who had never played baseball before, was introduced as a pinch-hitter for Frank Saucier and wore uniform number 1/8.
He emerged from a giant papier-mâché cake during the first game as part of a diversion, but the real stunt occurred in the second game when he stepped up to the plate.
Veeck had secured a valid major-league contract for Gaedel and instructed him not to swing, warning him that sharpshooters were positioned to fire if he did.
Facing Tigers pitcher Bob Cain, Gaedel was walked on four high pitches, all outside the strike zone, and was replaced by pinch-runner Jim Delsing.
He received a standing ovation from the crowd of 18,369 and later said, “For a minute, I felt like Babe Ruth”.
The next day, American League President Will Harridge banned Gaedel from future games.
Despite this, Veeck hired Gaedel again in 1959 for another promotional event with the Chicago White Sox, where he and three other little people dressed as Martians were lowered by helicopter into Comiskey Park.
Gaedel died in 1961 at age 36 after being beaten in a bar fight.
He remains the shortest and lightest player in Major League Baseball history, standing at 3 feet 7 inches and weighing 65 pounds.

If the US has intelligence and they refuse to stop in international waters, they were once allowed to proceed unmolested. Now the rules have changed.The US is now positioned to obliterate the drug processing facilities in Columbia and Venezuela. However many impoverished women work in those facilities and would be killed in any attack. Imagine a two hour warning will be given and the missiles will then land. Suspect the drug dealers may force the women to stay to be a deterrence.
