Letitia James to be arraigned in Virginia in mortgage fraud case

New York Attorney General Letitia James will be arraigned Friday for her charges of lying on a mortgage application, a prosecution pushed by President Donald Trump.

James' arraignment will be in Norfolk, Va., in the first court appearance since her indictment on Oct. 9. A grand jury in the U.S.District Court of Eastern Virginia indicted James on the criminal charges after the Justice Department alleged she falsely claimed a Norfolk, Va., property that she bought in 2020 would be her primary residence to get better mortgage terms.

James is expected to plead not guilty to one count of bank fraud and one count of making a false statement to a financial institution.

The indictment came a few weeks after Trump posted on Truth Social that Attorney General Pam Bondi should prosecute James, former FBI director James Comey and Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif. Bondi also recently indicted former national security advisor John Bolton.

James is accused of lying about the purpose of a house purchase in Norfolk in 2020. She said on the mortgage application that it would be her primary home, but instead made it a rental. She allegedly rented it to a family of three. But her great-niece has lived in the home since 2020 and testified to a grand jury that she has never paid rent. James has only reported $1,350 in rent on her taxes.

Just look at the last sentence of the first paragraph: “… a prosecution pushed by President Donald Trump.”

They’re making it look like a political revenge case and nothing to do with the evidence of mortgage fraud at all!

She’ll be out stinking up another case she’s involved in. The ho didn’t want the AG job to get Trump. She wanted it to keep her own skanky butt out of prison.

Can’t wait to see her mug shot..

I'm surprised she doesn't have one on file, like her niece.

You don’t think that niece would lie...do you? If it’s a rental property, there should be deductions....Maybe the $1300 amount was after deductions. Should look into the taxes a little more thoroughly....and the assessment. Is it listed as a single family residence or a rental property.

She needs a complete financial forensic audit. I smell bribe money. Rented to a family of three. Deadbeat niece lived there for all 5 years. Only claimed $1350 for taxes. (That could be true if she deducted mortgage and tax payments)

Where did the money come from and how much?

It would behoove her to plead guilty.

While James is guilty as sin and hell... I really wish Trump had kept out of it and let the legal process play out... AS IT SHOULD, for a refreshing change. That said, I don’t blame him for wanting James to be brought to justice after all the crap she put him through, quite deliberately and quite politically motivated and via intentionally “illegal” lawfare. But it would have been better for optics if he had refrained from stating the effing obvious.

We all get that James broke the law and should be prosecuted. But the left will, as usual, use Trump’s own words as ammo for their charge of partisan politics... ie what they are always and forever guilty of themselves.

I worry about any VA judge or jury. I would expect extreme bias.

I would actually like to see some experiments with AI judges and juries. Not in a binding sense, at least to start. But someone could try to construct an AI system, working hard to eliminate as much bias as possible (hard to do) and then feed it the text of the relevant laws, and the evidence and testimony in the case, and see if the AI feels that a law was violated. It really shouldn’t be that hard.

And a human element (part of the appeal) could be involved but would be required to explain why — specifically — a law was not violated when the defendant appears to have obviously broken the law. The onus should be on the human to prove that the AI was wrong.

That disgusting corpulent skank is housing FELONS in her houses that the mortgage fraud was allegedly committed in.

Oh, and nice to know a ‘grandniece’ living there allegedly is an OnlyFans participant.

Gross.

Random tips and unrelated activities are the trigger for many criminal investigations. If she hadn’t made a career out of “get Trump”, this matter would never have attracted the attention of the Department of Justice.

President Trump has a table full of portraits directly behind the Resolute desk.....her mugshot should go on it, front and center like a hunting trophy.

“she falsely claimed a Norfolk, Va., property that she bought in 2020”

Applicant Name: Letitia James
Job: Attorney General of the State of New York (since 2019)

The Norfolk house was obviously not going to be her primary residence.

Handwritten stuff takes precedence over boilerplate.

The bank only really cares about getting repaid with interest.

That the loan is going to a black woman is two pluses that help keep the federal government off the bank’s back.

I believe the house is in a ‘hood’, which is another plus for the bank.

She won't be making any fundraising money off that photo on a T shirt that's for sure.

If Trump had “kept out of it and let the legal process play out” the legal process would never have played out.

The statute of limitations would have rolled off, and the filthy pig would have been scot free.

It makes no difference what the Left does, because even if conservatives don’t say or do anything damning, the Left will simply make it up. So it is not beneficial in any way to worry about what they will or won’t do.

Ms James, you might want to bring your toothbrush and one set of clean undergarments with you to the arraignment.
Just a suggestion.
