President Trump again weighed in on the New York City mayoral race Tuesday, giving a brutal prognosis of Republican Curtis Sliwa’s election chances and declaring he’d rather see a Democrat than a “Communist” in charge at City Hall. “If [Sliwa] dropped out, he’s not going to win — and not looking too good for Cuomo either,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, referring to Republican nominee Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat who is running as an independent.
“But maybe, I don’t know, if he dropped out, maybe Cuomo would have a little bit of a chance, but not much, because it looks like the lead is, it’s not a great lead, but it’s big enough that he should be able to win,” Trump said.
Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani holds a double-digit lead with 43.2%, while Cuomo trails at 28.9% and Sliwa grabs 19.4%, according to the latest polls.

Remember, Trump said Andrew Cuomo did much better as a governor on COVID than Ron DeSantis.

NY City democrats already chose Mamdani, and Cuomo already embarrassed himself among NY’ers. This is 100% a democrat thing.
So the answer to the problems of communist democrats battling corrupt “mainstream” Democrats in One-party NY State is for the Republican to quite the race?

In this case, the answer was Adams. Adams already got elected once. He’s certainly not perfect, but he’s as good as, or better than what passes for a Republican in NYC.

Remember, Trump said Andrew Cuomo did much better as a governor on COVID than Ron DeSantis. Trump said a lot of things pertaining to COVID that were irresponsible, irrational, and idiotic. In fairness, so did many politicians.

Adams was the most awful candidate of them all. As an incumbent black mayor he was polling around 20% among BLACK voters when he finally dropped out of the race.

Trump and Cuomo were good friends from the 1980s all the way up until just before Trump ran for president. Maybe Trump still views Cuomo in a friendly way and thinks Cuomo would be better for his business interests in New York City. That’s all well and good but I still am hoping Mamdani wins. Let the world see how incompetently a 34 year old Socialist runs one of the country’s largest economies.

Many of us disagree with Trump on this. The only reason Trump ever had a shot at becoming POTUS was that some folks had the courage to refuse to vote for McCain, and even more folks found the courage to refuse to vote for Romney (myself included). The whole country was going to be destroyed, which primed the pump for a Trump victory. And if NY is smart, it will prime the pump for a Sliwa victory because otherwise NY is about to be destroyed too. But if NY is not smart, well, work on your contingency plans and let it burn to the ground. You can always rebuild from the ashes if there is anything left worth fixing once the commie is through with it. But Sliwa absolutely SHOULD NOT drop out any more than Trump should have dropped out so Jeb Bush could be the nominee.

You do know that Sliwa isn’t a Republican, and is a wackadoo. He doesn’t like Trump either. What is it you like about Sliwa?

"You do know that Sliwa isn’t a Republican, and is a wackadoo."
Do you remember when Lindsey Graham told us Donald Trump is a "race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot"? How about when John McCain called conservatives "whacko birds"? I don't believe what the media, democrats, and RINOs tell me. I think for myself.
And I think in this race Sliwa is the *only* candidate in the race who put his own time and money into actually protecting his fellow citizens on the streets and in the NYC subways by founding the Guardian Angels. He's the only candidate who put skin in the game before the cameras rolled and spotlight came on.
I don't care if he likes Trump or not. Marco Rubio claimed Trump is "not a conservative, and he’s not very smart" on the campaign trail in 2016, and look where he is today. Sliwa can work with Trump, and vice versa, even if they don't like each other, because that is what grown-ass men called to serve their fellow man do.
And that is something neither Mamdani or Cuomo can remotely comprehend, and that makes them unworthy of my vote. I withheld my vote for Romney which primed the pump for Trump. I'll tip my hat to the ones with courage and spine enough to support Sliwa despite the media campaign against him. Sometimes you have to do the right thing, even when its the hard thing, and let'er buck.

I think we should keep people like Mamdami, Sanders, AOC etc. around to use as bad examples to make our case on any given subject. I’ll bet that within two years of Mamdami’s term New Yorkers will be demanding he be impeached.

I think we should keep people like MamdamiSadiq Khan is still the Mayor of London.
So once Mamdami becomes the Mayor of NYC, that will be the end of the Big Apple we know it.
Detroit is still around today. But not really.
