This is the moment a police van was set on fire as riots broke out near a hotel used to house asylum seekers in Dublin.
Officers were also attacked with missiles and fireworks as protesters gathered at the Citywest Hotel last night.
Six people were arrested and the Irish police service, the gardai or An Garda Siochana, said one of its officers suffered a foot injury.
Ireland's Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan said that those involved in the violence will be brought to justice.
He said: 'The scenes of public disorder we have witnessed at Citywest tonight must be condemned.
'Unfortunately, the weaponising of a crime by people who wish to sow dissent in our society is not unexpected.

hate to break it to you... most of the foot troops of an insurrection in the initial fighting aren't going to be choirboys but men that are accustomed to violence and moving weapons and cash around.... Criminals, former police or military veterans.
"Violence" is a a tool that takes some getting used to. It's an acquired skill to inflict and tolerate violence. There isn't a fraction of a percentage of men in this country that have taken a punch to the face or punched someone in the face. A lot of men THINK they can by watching tv or movies...hahahahaha... but you can see on social media fight videos the difference between someone trained or those that are not.
Once the government over reacts and hurts the regular populace...well then others decide that it's time to pick up a weapon and join in the party.
