Air travel has, in recent years, already gotten far less pleasant than it used to be just a decade or two ago: you’ve got the hassle of TSA lines, tiny seats (unless you want to pay for one of the endless upgrades offered), airport food that costs more than a car payment, and other inconveniences. Still, we do it because it’s the fastest way to travel and we want to see our families and/or go on vacation.
But imagine if you were strolling about the concourse and suddenly you heard pro-Hamas messages being blasted over the PA system? That’s exactly what happened to passengers at multiple airports on Tuesday as miscreants somehow hacked into the systems.
You’re just angling for a rare spot at the crowded bar, and suddenly you hear “Free Palestine!” It would certainly be disconcerting, and possibly even quite scary, because you wouldn’t know what, if anything, is coming next:
A looped message saying "Free Palestine" played from the speakers at Pennsylvania's Harrisburg International Airport after a hacker accessed the system. Similar incidents were reported at three Canadian airports.

At least four airports in the U.S. and Canada were targeted:
Passengers at airports in Pennsylvania and British Columbia were stunned Tuesday when loudspeakers suddenly blasted pro-Hamas messages and slurs against President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Videos posted by travelers showed the unauthorized recordings echoing through terminals at Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania and Kelowna International Airport in Canada.
Screens at Kelowna also flashed messages praising Hamas and urging “Free Palestine,” according to officials and witnesses.
This social media poster blames Canadian airport security services for the hack, but as noted, it happened in Pennsylvania’s Harrisburg International Airport, too. I would also posit that the pro-Hamas creeps didn’t go through security; they probably achieved their twisted plan from a remote location.
Still, not what you want to see when you’re rushing to your gate:
🟥CANADIAN AIRPORT SECURITY FAILURE — PA SYSTEM HACKED WITH НAMAS MESSAGING
Listen to Kelowna Airport loudspeakers play Arabic chants with Нamas propaganda.
Security in Canada is a joke.
But I'm glad we're all limited to travel-sized bottles of liquids so we can stay safe!

One plane was searched at the Harrisburg airport, and multiple flights were delayed at several of the locations involved, but there were no significant safety issues. However, it’s certainly concerning that hackers were apparently able to break into airport networks – what else are they capable of worming their way into with their skills?
The cybersecurity breaches highlight growing vulnerabilities in airport networks that have become increasingly reliant on cloud-based audio and display systems.
In June, a criminal group penetrated the computer networks of several airlines in the US and Canada, according to the FBI.
A month later, a software outage caused chaos at major European hubs when hackers knocked out check-in systems used by dozens of carriers.
I almost don’t want to know more, actually. If you think too much about all that could go wrong while you’re 30,000 feet in the air, you’re likely to become a quivering mess. Best to grab a beverage, open a good book, watch a free movie, or have a nice nap and then thank the heavens when you’re back on terra firma.

Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
I’m about to fly next week, first time in many years though I used to be a frequent flyer. I hope people in airports and passengers behave or I’ll freak out.
In the Holocaust, speakers played Wagner in the early 1933 and 1934 concentration camps such as Dachau, forcing the Jews to hear the outspoken anti-semite’s music. This was to expose them to “national music.”
I wish that I could leave the following message on the PA system after the Ham-ass message: “Nuke Mecca!”
Perhaps it was just CNN and mistaken for a pro Hamas hacker but I repeat my self.
PS
Normal time spent flying 500 miles. 1 hour driving to the airport, 1 hour but sometimes a half hour clearing security, an hour or a half waiting to be boarded, about a half an hour post bording to take off, 1-1/2 hour flying, 1 hour to get my luggage and pick up my car rental.
About 6 hours total. To drive 500 miles I can do it in 8 hours in Texas. We have great roads. Thus if the trip is 500 miles or less I drive and leave at my own time and return at my own time I desire and do not suffer the indignities of modern air travel. Also much cheaper than paying for the ticket and renting a car.
I miss the air travel back in the sixties. The 707 was the king of the airways and the DC-8 a close second. We were polite to the stewardesses and they to us. Most of us wore suits or very nice cloths. The stewardesses called us sir and we called them mam.
Hacked, IOW, some jihadist inside the FAA, a DEI hire from the Biden or Obama era?
Maybe people will now wake up and realize that this will be our reality if we don’t stop the muslim invasion of this country.
I’m sorry. I don’t buy the hacker angle. I feel someone gave the cybervandals access.

As long there is one of these bastards alive , the world isn’t safe!
“Cyberterrorism” makes it past the FR spellchecker. Who’d-a-thunkit?
I drive almost everywhere. For my job I need a good deal of gear so flying isn’t a great option. In the next few weeks I’ll be driving from Maryland to Kentucky and Maryland to Houston.
"MUSLIMS" ....A mass of people who carry a "holy" book that says to murder all Jews and Christians who won't bow to their prophet.
And now we're flooding them into our country and even putting them into our government!
Can American citizens be more stupid or are we trying to destroy ourselves ???
BTW - That first Muslim president Obama said he "had a plan for America" .... and it was NOT for our good!
They, the government, removed God from the American people and are allowing immigrants to forcefully project their beliefs without resistance due to God being removed from the American people.
That does it. I’m convinced, going on the Haj. Hamas wins.
Within months of 9-11 I noticed foreign women in Islamic garb working janitorial jobs at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
The school ruling was exactly appropriate; and, had no affect upon my worship. I could always pray in school with no repercussions.
“Maryland to Kentucky and Maryland to Houston”
Maryland to Kentucky I would drive. Maryland to Houston I would fly, but I do not have a lot of gear as you. For a two or three day visit I can pack everything I need in a carry on case. Oddly if I want to go to a washeteria every 3 or 4 days, I can go for weeks. 90 minutes will give me clean cloths for a few days. As mentioned I miss airline travel of the 60s. You could even have a smoke back then, but for safety reasons it was wise to ban such. I well remember sitting it the back of an Lockheed Electra turbo prop sitting in the lounge and having a drink and smoking a cigar. Yes I am old!
That particular plane is rarely used today for commercial transportation except in third world nations. Our Coast Guard and Hurricane Hunters still do. It is built like a brick shit house and can penetrate into the heart of a major hurricane to gather data. A great aircraft it is.
This is one of the many miracles of modern electronics, I suppose. My thought is that if they can catch the person or persons who did this, that they would be banished from any & all of the nation’s airports..permanently & the announcement would be immediately dismissed by the management.
We will certainly have to differ.
