NEW YORK (AP) — Dozens of reporters turned in access badges and exited the Pentagon on Wednesday rather than agree to government-imposed restrictions on their work, pushing journalists who cover the American military further from the seat of its power. The nation’s leadership called the new rules “common sense” to help regulate a “very disruptive” press.
News outlets were nearly unanimous in rejecting new rules imposed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that would leave journalists vulnerable to expulsion if they sought to report on information — classified or otherwise — that had not been approved by Hegseth for release.
Many of the reporters waited to leave together at a 4 p.m. deadline set by the Defense Department to get out of the building. As the hour approached, boxes of documents lined a Pentagon corridor and reporters carried chairs, a copying machine, books and old photos to the parking lot from suddenly abandoned workspaces. Shortly after 4, about 40 to 50 journalists left together after handing in badges.

In corporate America, you are not allowed to walk around freely and engage in conversations with key individuals.
Why do you think you can do it in the US Government Defense Department?
Give me a “G!”
Give me a “T!”
Give me a “F!”
Give me a “O!”
What’s that spell?

And the IQ of the Pentagon raised in direct proportion to the number of the absent ‘journalists’.
Eff them and the elementary schools posing as ‘kolleges’ that they bought their degrees from.
Buh, bye.
Good riddance to garbage.
In other important news we might get a lil rain today
You can’t walk around in any average company in America without an ID badge.
They think they’re above the law?
C ya!
I don’t understand why they even have access to the inside of that building except by invitation.

The Fourth Estate has become a fifth column.
This way, they're gone voluntarily - and any who are left won't be publishing confidential information.
I live practically within walking distance to Eglin AFB main gate.
I can’t walk onto that base without a pass and full ID check and even then I have to have a name of someone on base that I am to be escorted by.
These juvenile journalists are having a hissy fit and throwing a tantrum over having to do exactly what every other American is required to do.
Special treatment for ‘journalists’ is now over.....no more free brownies and coffee either............
It keeps getting better.
Reporters can be replaced. They are being short-sighted, just like the Jeffrey Goldberg sold off his access to report confidential findings.
Oh, well. So sad you can no longer generate leaks.
I suspect that a reason will prevail. The media types will return and will abide by the new rules.
They will be restricted to where they can go.
Maybe they will be permitted to go to the cafeteria for the Steamboat roast beef sandwich. That is one of America’s very best deals.
