Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell announced on social media that on the way back to the U.S. from NATO’s Defense Ministers meeting, Hegseth’s plane made an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom "due to a crack in the aircraft windshield."

I happened to me on a C17 flight from Ramstein to Bagram about 10 years ago. We were about 2 hours into the flight when the pilots (already masked with O2) that we were dropping altitude and speed and heading back, low and slow. They repaired the windshield that day and we were back in the air less than 24 hours later.
